Located in the coolest part of London, the Ace Hotel has to be one of the most exciting and interesting hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff are cool and dressed more stylishly than I will ever be. The reception is big and open and leads round to a bar area, coffee shop, club, neighbouring restaurant Hoipaloi (see separate review) and florists.
The rooms are really cool with amazing decor that means you can't help but look and explore every time you're in the room. Everything is available to buy from paracetamol to mixing decks and the robes are difficult to leave behind!
We stayed in the deluxe double on the 4th floor to the rear of the hotel which is quieter than the front. The room comes with a low, but massive bed, iron and tea making facilities and massive a couch. It also comes with a passable hair dryer but it didn't match my wife's high, bouffant requirements. Theirs free wifi throughout which didn't require me to login every time which is great. The hotel also has a sauna and gym but we were too busy to see them as we had to fit in an Alternative Tour of London Street Art, Dinner at the Pearl at the Dolls House, clubbing at McQueens, steak dinner and the Book of Morman show!
Overall, this hotel is perfectly in keeping with the coolest area of London, minutes away from Hoxton Square, Spitalfields Market and still close to the westend. There is so much to see in Shoreditch and the hotel is the best way to get you in the trendy, relaxed and cool way of local life.
If you want to stay in an experience hotel that's in keeping with the area you're staying in, then the Ace Hotel is a fantastic choice!
