“Perfect place to stay”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

Great location (about 5 min. ton London Bridge station, 10 to 15 min. to Tate Modern and within walking distance of Tower Bridge, Tower, London Eye, St. Paul´s and the Monument). Clean rooms, very friendly and helpful front desk, quiet, okay breakfast. Lots of pubs nearby including "The Anchor", also cheap restaurants like "Eat". Will certainly stay there again!

The staff were excellent at this hotel. Booked a double twin room for 7 nights. When we got there, the room only had 1 bed (the twin beds were attached together into 1 bed). Called the front desk and they had someone there in less than 5 minutes, even though it was about 10:40PM. We mentioned to the staff person who helped us that we were looking for a place to get some food. He called our room a few minutes later and said that he asked the restaurant to stay open a few minutes longer so we could eat after our long flight from NY. They were also helpful several other times during our stay.
The rooms, while smaller than the American standard, were clean and cozy. The bathroom had a glowing shower head (weird yet cool). Wifi was free. Not a lot of TV channels without paying extra, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it was perfect for us. A breakfast buffet is complimentary and includes bread, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, cheese, deli meats, hard-boiled eggs, tea, coffee, and juice. We also went to the restaurant for dinner a couple of times and the food was pretty good.
The London Bridge tube station is a 5 minute walk. Also within walking distance (some are longer walks): The Globe Theatre, Millennium Bridge, Tower Bridge, Tate Modern museum. There are also plenty of restaurants really close by. It's probably not as convenient as a hotel in central London, but for the price it is a really good choice.

For a 2-star hotel in London this represents excellent value. Very helpful staff and room was quiet but more than adequate. Breakfast very good. All in all to be highly recommended in every respect.

Stayed here for 2 nights for business, and a colleague of mine took over and stayed another 3 nights. Good location, only a 20 min walk to Tower bridge, or 5 mins to London Bridge Tube. Clean and pleasant. Food was good - simple but ok. Only 1 minor issue......TV reception is probably about the poorest I have come across, but it didn't bother me as I was hardly ever in the hotel.

We reserved 3 rooms: 2 doubles and 1 twin room.
The location is good. Walking distance from the Globe and Tate Modern. And the nearest metro is London Bridge.
All our rooms were allready cleaned and ready when we arrived around 10 o'clock, so the check-in was without any problems.
We had a room at the front side, but the room was quiet. We didn't here any noise from the street.
The room was simple and clean and our shower was really good (good pressure). Only the bedside table could be a little bit bigger.
Also breakfast was really good. During peak periode (between 08h30 - 09h30) the restaurant was allways full, but we allways had a seat after 5minutes. The personel was really friendly and they did there best to keep the buffet clean. After our stay we could leave our bags at the hotel.
At this moment I would certainly advise this hotel. But hopefully they will keep there standards in the coming years.

We stayed here with 2 young children in May 2012 in a “family room” and were very impressed. The staff were great and very friendly and the room is perfect with young kids. Would definitely return.

The family room consisted or 2 inter-connecting rooms. The door opened into a room with double sofa-bed, wall mounted flat screen TV, table, 2 easy chairs, 2 wardrobes, a wall unit fitted with sink; microwave; kettle and fridge; and a supply of tea/coffee/plates/bowls/knifes, etc. Connected to this room is the main bedroom with double bed, 2 easy chairs, wall mounted flat screen TV, wardrobe, Nespresso machine and safe. The walk-in shower and toilet are accessed through this room.

For a tourist the location is ok, not great. But there is an excellent bus service just outside the door and also around the corner on Southward Road. London Bridge tube (and train) station is about 7 minutes walk away, so easy to connect all around London and Gatwick in particular via train. Tip: Bus route RV1 goes from corner of hotel to London Eye (Big Ben, etc.). Also the Tate Modern is a very short walk.

A continental breakfast was included in price for all. It was very good, with a large selection of cereals, fruits, cold meats, yogurts and bread. Was very impressed with quality and restaurant staff.

Happy to report WiFi is free and there is a PC in the lobby as well. Also there was water (coffee??) and pasties available in the lobby during the day.

As a nice touch, the receptionist gave our kids a small welcome bag with crayons, colouring book and a small toy. Really nice touch and made us feel welcome.

The only negatives are minor: tourist location not fantastic; heat in room was excessive and aircon is old and slow; street noise is very loud when windows are open (but its London so what do you expect!). Cost was good to expensive… cheapest night was 120, but dearest was 165 which is very high.
