“Average - good base location”
Reviewed 21 July 2012

This hotel is what you expect from an Ibis, room photos on website looked better then it really is. Air conditioning never worked, although it's London, our room had sun for many hours, so it was quite hot, so was the corridor between room and elevator, you could actually grow bananas there. The hotel is actually closer to Subway station then it looks on the map, if you use the hotel back door. Breakfast was quite good, lots of choice and staff kept stocking up till last minute. So you don't have to rush to breakfast fearing to get only crums. We had a great view to the Shard!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the courtyard and the Shard

Stayed here one Friday night. Service and room were fantastic. This Ibis had been recently upgraded and as a result, was very good value for money. Close to Southwark and London Bridge tube stations. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh.

Stayed for 3 nights and found location perfect for lots of London walking and visiting attractions. Try using buses - even more convenient from here than the tube. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented; we also ate in the restaurant which served very reasonable food.
This hotel was badged 'All Seasons' when we booked - but now 'Ibis Styles - and right next door to a Novotel. No need to look further for a comfortable, affordable bed in a convenient part of London. We walked to Westminster one way and Tower the other. Very handy to The Globe and St Pauls. Reception staff helpful, and free wifi.

5 min walk to "London Bridge" tube station (Northern line - black color on the map, direct from the St.Pancras train station if you come from continent by train)
5 min walk to Shakspire globe, New Tate and other museums
15 min walk to St.Paul (making 100 stops to take pictures NOT included)
and on and on and on.
60BP flat fee to get to the airport (45mins in the EARLY morning).

Tons of places to eat around (from just bars to something more seroius).
The hotel has a pretty decent restaurant/bar/lounge if you are lazy to venture out.

Listed price is 285BP per night per double, got my double room for 3 nights (Fri check in, Mon check out) for 285BP via booking dot com.

rm #234
The good
I need to note a VERY comfortable mattress with a very good duvet in a duvet cover for a change! I personally strongly dislike a throw on top of a flat sheet.

On a smaller size, clean room decorated with cheerful candy colors for carpet and walls.
There are full size mirror, ironing board and hair dryer, sawing kit, shoe polishing cloth, electric kettle with tea/coffee/milk/sugar supply, safe, that fits even full size laptop, window that opens in to a quiet court yard, good size flat TV and well thought through lights.

Very good, steady wifi or use free PC in the lobby.

Breakfast, included in the rate (so, I do not know how much it is), and is great value.
Served till 10am on weekdays and till 11am on weekends, which gives you some flexibility in the morning.
Breakfast buffet has pleasant variety: fresh fruits, fruit salads, cereals, yogurt, cheeses, cold cuts, jams; freshly baked pastries and BREAD; 2 types of juices, coffee, tea. No omelets but there are hard boiled eggs.
You can take food to your room as well as ORDER food to be brought to your room - no extra charge for room service, which a small nice gesture.

Could be improved/changed - minor things, really

- no suite case folding stand in the room. I had to put mine on the floor - not very convenient when you are packing/unpacking

- no bed cover, just blanket in a duvet - kinda strange to drop on to uncovered bed in street clothing.

- only 2 very large size bath towels provided. No hand towels, no wash cloths.

- no garbage can in a totally separated toilet area.

Cannot be changed:
bathroom is tiny. Shower size is OK for 5'6"/140lb female but it would be a tight squeeze for a man. In any case, I would complement architect on design of the bathroom.

Helpful front desk and cheerful barman.

I'll definetely concider this place for my next London trip.

Room Tip: room overlooking the inner court yard is better I think.
