“Good stay for a few nights”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

Safestay was great considering you could be sharing a room with up to 7 other people. It was pretty hot in the room, but thankfully i was right next to the window. All beds were bunk beds which wasn't a big deal for us. It was about a 7 minute walk to the metro station and had some good restaurants in the area. The downside was that you had to rent items, such as a towel or hairdryer. Overall great stay!

Room Tip: Try to get a bed next to the window.

Myself and 5 friends stayed here when we came to London to attend a festival, and we couldn't have been happier with the hostel.

It was extremely clean throughout and the decor was modern. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm and although the dorm was a little hot (it is the middle of the hottest year England has ever seen what do you expect!) the beds were comfy and the curtains surrounding each bunk bed were perfect to give you that little bit of privacy!

Breakfast was a nice surprise for us as we didn't realise they provided it! A selection of cereals and croissants..

None of my party had any complaints about the shower as others have reported- all 6 showers we had were hot (even at 9am!- peak time),

Overall an excellent Hostel and more than worth the money spent!

Very clean and contemporary hostel. stayed in an 8 bed dorm, rooms were very clean but HOT, they only allow the windows to be open about 3in and there is no air con. Breakfast was good and the area to relax in downstairs is huge so thats nice. Wifi also worked really well in the basement and if you are lucky sometimes you can get it in the room. Lots of tour groups of young kids when I was there, maybe it was because it was the summer I'm not sure, but the chaperones werent paying attention to them at all, which was very annoying. Overall I think it was a good value for the price, some people say that Elephant and Castle is a dodgy area, stayed there for a week and never felt uncomfortable.

Beware if you’re a SOLO traveller, the management rents the better rooms to tour guides who use the place as a pit stop. The building is split, and half of the building feels like an oven. My room was BLAZING hot, and they lock the windows down. The pictures look great but it’s a gamble if you’ll get a comfortable room. Personally I wouldn’t take the risk because if you decide to leave last minute rooms in London are very expensive.

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you're a SOLO traveler

Just had an overnight stopover as we needed to be waterloo station. The hostel was easy to find as per the directions on booking site. Quite good accommodation and a reasonable price for London. Stayed in a private bunk bed room which was roomy. Had a huge flatscreen tv in room. Beds were quite comfortable and clean en suite shower and toilet. Breakfast was adaquate. There were large groups staying at the time which made the breakfast area very busy. The wi fi was fast and reliable and the hostel has lots of areas for relaxing in the downstairs lounge and bar area.

The hostel looks great, it's clean and the staff were friendly. Except for that, the stay were not too good. In the summer the rooms are way too hot and the traffic were noisy from our room. It was no hot water in the shower either. The breakfast contained of yoghurt, corn flakes and croisants, and they didn't have anything for people who have some kind of food intolerance. Because of that I had to get my breakfast elsewhere.

New, clean and well organized hostel in zone 1 in London. Just 20 minutes walk from Big Ben. Very good quality of rooms and bathrooms. Evrything is new and colourful. Just a note: there are no towells provided and breakfast is really continental (milk, corn flakes, jam, coffee). There is no place where you can prepare the meal or boil the water yourself (you can purchase it in bar for 0,3GBP per mag). It's pretty unsual for the hostel.

Generally - nice place to stay.
