“Basic but Brilliant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2014

I booked this hotel via one of the hotel search sites and chose it as I was after a cheap, Clean hotel near Kings Cross for a couple of nights. When I am in London I only need the room to sleep in as I am out early and back late.

The room was on the 5th floor and overlooked the main road but although there was some road noise it wasn't intrusive. The room had air con which worked well.

The room was large enough, the bathroom was suitably equipped with a decent hot shower and most importantly everything was clean.

The hotel doesn't do breakfast but does offer tea and coffee at a price in the foyer as there are no drink making facilities in the room. There is an excellent Cafe across the road that does wonderful breakfasts and coffee.

The hotel is an easy 5 to 10 minute walk from Kings Cross and easy to find being on the main road.

The staff were efficient and friendly and helpful.

As I said I booked the room via another site and ended up with the TV and WiFi package which, if you book direct are extras, as is a window :)

Would I stay there again, definately.

Room Tip: If you book direct your start by choosing a room with or without windows and then add extras as you...

really clean room. Beds comfy. No window but this aided my sleep as really dark. Very conveninat and good value for money. check was really smooth and quick. Shower was a good temperature without needing to fiddle around with it.

Room Tip: by reception on that floor was quiet

Wasn't expecting much when we booked this, especially as the smallprint confirmed we weren't getting a wardrobe or window and had to pay extra for two towels and the hairdryer. However the hotel was in a great location for us, and the room was immaculately spotless. We weren't planning on spending much room at all in the hotel so the small basic room was not an issue, it had all the necessities for a short stay in London. Only odd thing was having sleep disturbed as no window but you can pay extra for one. Would stay again.

Having previously stayed at both the Liverpool Street and Westminster Tune Hotels, I thought I would give this one a try. As always the rooms are spotless and comfortable and provide all that you need for a couple of nights stay whilst visiting London. Yes the rooms are reasonably small, but they are more than adequate for the price and the comfortable bed and good shower more than make up for it. Regarding the add-on's - I always bring my own hairdryer and shampoo/ showergel (even to posh hotels) so not an issue for me. Only things I generally opt to pay extra for are the towels and TV. I would recommend paying the extra for the window - whilst I have stayed in a room without the window which was perfectly fine, there is nothing like natural light. This hotel is located very central to main sights of London (Oxford Street, Covent Garden etc) and nearest tube station - Kings Cross St Pancras only a short walk away. Plenty of pubs and places to eat close by. I would say this is the best Tune in London (followed by Liverpool St. as a close second) as such a beautiful building with lots of character - the other three are ex office buildings. Definitely returning asap - once I can justify another shopping trip! :-)

Room Tip: Opt for the window - nothing like natural light and higher level to make the most of the skyline.

Prior to my visit I was looking for a good reasonably priced hotel near to Euston or Kings Cross
and having done some homework and checking reviews on T/A I choose the Tune Hotel and I was NOT disappointed.
Arrived at the hotel late evening on the 5th February for one night only, greeted by two lovely reception ladies. Check in was smooth and we were given room 333. I had booked a room without a window to avoid any street/traffic noise. During the booking process the only add ons requested were the towels and toiletries which were a great price. We didn't need the other facilties as we leaving the next day.
The room was cosy, very clean and modern with twin beds. There was an ample en suite bathroom, good lighting with a very good shower. Nice fluffy white towels.
Climate control/AC In the room for your use and a plug point between the beds to charge up your mobile phone. However, the hairdryer, safe and TV incurr additional cost so read up on the terms and conditions on the hotels web site.
The following morning my daughter was on business in the Holloway area for most of the day
and of course London was MANIC due to the 48 hour tube strike so I had to change my own itinerary as most of the day which involved walking to several locations (walking in the rain).
I left the luggage at the hotel all day after check out for £2.50 which was fantasic. I beleive the stations charge £9.00. The Tune hotel has a locked luggage room for piece of mind.
OVERALL THE TUNE IS AN EXCELLENT AFFORDABLE HOTEL IN A GOOD LOCATION FOR THE TRAINS AND TUBE STATIONS, DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.

Room Tip: If you wan't a good night sleep choose a room without a window

We stayed here to go to a concert at Hyde Park, excellent location within walking distance of Euston and Kings Cross stations, plenty of eating places within easy reach. Clean hotel with very friendly staff.

Great location, its just 5 mins walk to King Cross St Pancras International station, which conects with most (or all the tube lines). The room is a bit small but was enough for us, was clean and had everything we needed. Notice that they only clean the room every 3 days. Although, I recomend this hotel... if you look for a regular-low price hotel (for London!) with central location.

Room Tip: I would avoid the low ground
