“Top value family room”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Stayed 2 adults and kids 8 and 11 in a room with a double and two single beds. Great location, quite new hotel, clean, great staff. Free/cheap WiFi.
Excellent value. First choice when we visit London again for vacation.

The location might be considered by some to be the 'wrong side of the river' but this hotel is a short walk over the footbridge to St Paul's and an easy taxi ride to everything else. When you factor in the excellent nightly rate, it's a pretty good value stay. Even with taxi fares thrown in we were still around half the cost of our other options for family room hotels.

Staff couldn't do enough for us, enthusiastic and helpful. We arrived earlier than normal check-in time and were allowed complimentary coffee/tea/juice while they finished preparing the room for us. Wi-Fi access is free for long enough to check tourist info, post to social media or check emails and an additional £10 fee allows unlimited access for 2 devices for a week - which puts most other hotels to shame.

The cooked all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast, less than £10 per adult and absolutely free for the kids, meant the 4 of us could fuel up for the day for less than £20 in total which, when you consider that 2 coffees and 2 soft drinks in a café in London can cost £10, is pretty good value.

We needed the family room and, whilst obviously compact as usual, was well appointed and comfortable. If you need a family room with a double and 2 proper single beds in London then a Premier Inn can't be beaten for comfort and value - half the price of budget chains or privately-run hotels in this city which past experience tells me will be nothing like advertised and a huge risk.

All Premier Inns might 'look the same' but that's the beauty of it - you always know what you will get and good value thrown in as well.

The good: service and staff friendliness second to none, generously sized and well furnished rooms, excellent bed, no noise in room, good restaurant with generous opening hours in hotel. Everything was new and in mint condition. Excellent value for money.
The less good: the immediate surroundings are not the best, but it is not too far to the metro station. Free wifi is time-limited, and although upgrading to unlimited access is very inexpensive, it unfortunately did not work for us due to some technical issue. This will probably have been resolved by the time you are reading this, though, and we did get our money back with no hassle.
The verdict: definitely the best value for money we have had in London, and one of the best hotels overall. Strongly recommended.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived late after restaurant had closed but they quickly recommended a local pizza take away, they ordered food for us then called us when it arrived.
Tesco and sainsbury local within a minute stroll.
5 min walk to Tate modern /millenium bridge and 15 min to tower bridge. I would stay there again.

A stones throw from all the top attractions in London and walking distance with bags from Southwark tube station. Right at the back of Tate museum and Millennium bridge and easy to get cabs in the area. Very typical Premier Inn, awesome staff and very quiet hotel perfect for families and holiday makers.
