Owner description: The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud and privileged to be the custodian of the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London. The memorial has been built to be modern, yet classical, in Portland stone. At its heart are the bronze sculptures of a Bomber Command aircrew. Within the memorial, the space is open to the sky with an opening designed to allow light to fall directly onto sculptures of the aircrew.

I originally visited this amazing memorial when it first opened and it was haunting to read all of the notes that where left on crosses by loved ones and relatives of the hero's who gave their lives in defence of our freedom. The sculptures are amazing and the sense of realism brings the pilots and air crew to life. This is a must visit memorial for people of all ages.

This memorial was long overdue but probably worth the wait. It is sad that so many of the surviving crews would not have survived to see the memorial unveiled. Anyone visiting London should read and learn a bit about the amazing sacrifices made by the crews of bomber command and go and visit the memorial. It is fitting that the eyeline of the statues of the crew members allows them to watch the planes descending into Heathrow. It is both very poignant and very moving.

An impressive memorial on the northern edge of Green Park at the end of Piccadilly and close to Hyde Park Corner. A fitting tribute to those Bomber command flight crews lost during WW2, the sculpture is especially moving. My uncle was a bomber pilot who was lost in action February 1944 along with his crew. I think they would have been proud of this memorial. It took long enough for them to be acknowledged. Please pay a visit to remember them all.

This Memorial to Bomber Command is long overdue. I love the sculptures of airmen - it really makes you think hard about all the air crews who were lost in WW2 and their comrades who suffered horrific injuries. It is very thought-provoking and quite haunting.

This is a fitting memorial to those whose sacrifice was ignored due to the political correctness in the post war period.
