Owner description: The RAF Benevolent Fund is proud and privileged to be the custodian of the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London. The memorial has been built to be modern, yet classical, in Portland stone. At its heart are the bronze sculptures of a Bomber Command aircrew. Within the memorial, the space is open to the sky with an opening designed to allow light to fall directly onto sculptures of the aircrew.

Beautiful memorial, worth a visit and I found it quite emotional. The design is so well thought and shows the heroism and makes you think what people went through and are still going through. In lovely surroundings and is well worth a visit

“A fitting tribute”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014 via mobile

No matter what your thoughts are about the bombing campaign during the war
This is about the men and women who took part
The pictures and personal letters scattered around the monument are fascinating and should remind us that we should all do our part to ensure that it should never happen again

This is a must visit for all even if only a few minutes

“Let's get some perspective...”

Some things for visitors and reviewers to note:
- this is a memorial and not an attraction per se, there are not themed rides, gift shops, video walls, guided tours and the like
- it's not intended to be an architectural prize winner, and so shouldn't be judged as such
- it's not an attempt to glorify war, and so shouldn't be taken as such
- it's just a simple tribute and a place to go if you want to quietly remember the fallen.

If you want to go to a place to quietly remember the sacrifice of the fallen of this country, then go. If not then don't go. It's that simple.

“Interesting, maybe not worth special trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

As a lover of aerial history I was eager to visit... it is a fitting tribute to their determination and heroism. There's not that much to see or do here other than reflect on their deeds. I do like how easy it is to walk up and pay your respects.
