“Clean but SO SO HOT !!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

Convenient for what we were doing but as windows do not open then the room got unbearably hot- so hot that it melted a chocolate bar and curdled the long life milk cartons supplied by Travelodge. Local management tried to ease things by putting fans in the room but that only circulated the HOT air.
Serious risk to young children from the temperature until a permanent solution found.
Advice is to avoid this place unless you really like it hot and stifling. Shame as the staff are really helpfull and keep the place clean

Very convenient for our purpose, next door to train station
Lots of cafés, supermarket etc
Extremely basic facilities, small room, very comfortable bed, very clean
Okay for overnight, no fridge, bare (and I mean bare!) necessities
Paid for wifi for a week that didn't work after first day
Girl at reception very unhelpful, said had reported and after three days of enquiring told us to call wifi ourselves When rang had never been reported
Asked for a quiet room if possible, given one on ground floor beside train station!
Didn't bother us too much in end
Overall only average

This is a small, very clean, no-frills hotel that offers excellent value for the frugal traveler. Small rooms, amazingly quiet, with cheerful, friendly & helpful staff. Very close to the tube station, and an easy tube ride to central London. Bring your own alarm clock and face cloth. No a/c, and the windows don't open (only real negative thing about our stay).

I booked this hotel as central London hotels were just too expensive. This Travelodge is about 25 minutes from Victoria Railway station by underground or overground rail. The hotel is immediately next to the underground station; 35 meters. Staff at reception were very friendly and accommodating and did everything to make our stay comfortable. The rooms have recently been upgraded and look tidy, clean and inviting. The bathroom, although small, had a clean and nice shower,
We stayed here for 4 nights, as London tourists. I would most definitely stay here again.
The only comment I have to make is that when temperatures outside are hot, so is the room. There is no air-conditioning and windows cannot be opened.
Although a fan was put in the room.
Despite that one negative aspect, I would very definitely stay here again.

I booked this hotel because it was inexpensive, near a tube, and you know what you are getting with Travelodge. It had no catering facilities but there were eateries within easy walking distance. The only problem really was the heat. Each room had its own fan but this wasn't enough to cool the room sufficiently for it to be comfortable to sleep in.

Stayed for 2 nights this weekend. Hotel was ideally located for where my son lives and close to tubes and trains. Hotel very clean but no air conditioning which made the rooms stifling. Wasn't able to open windows either. They put small table fans in the room but were absolutely useless. Consequently had hardly any sleep over the 2 nights and felt shattered. Shame, they advertise their comfy beds for a good nights sleep but don't think about the temperature of the room! Sort it and it would be perfect.
