I dont normally do reviews but one thing I was disappointed with has prompted me to do this. Overall it was a normal travelodge experience, a hot room with a duvet thats too thick, but that doesnt put me off staying there.
Our room only had a shower which we were fine with but said shower did not have any shelf in it or one of those squeezee bottles fixed to the wall that you get at other establishments.

This meant that any shampoo bottles or soap had to go on the floor of the shower and which didnt make for a pleasant showering experience.

This is a fairly new hotel and all walls in the bathroom are plastic cladding and there has never been a shelf in the shower so it does look like this is a new design.

Travelodge please tell me why?

Have stayed at Travelodge in different locations & know that they are budget but there are small things that can be done to make your stay enjoyable at little or no cost, both that London Excel didnt do. Hotel chose for location and free parking for our 3 nights in London for family of 4. Room was corner room that had 2 additional put up beds, but supplied us 3 towels & 6 coat hangers, 3 cups. Room was never cleaned & seeing staff was like playing hide & seek and when seen they avoided conversation let alone a smile. My daughter was on crutches but at no time was any assistance offered unlike the Premier Inn we stayed the day before where they smiled & offered help when required.

We had a great stay at the hotel and we'll surely be back in october! The staff was very nice to us and the breakfast and dinner were great. We went to MCM Comic Con, and the hotel was at walking distance to London Excel.

Service was very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and tidy. Location great for Royal Albert DLR station. Only complaint would be that the breakfast cutlery could have been better replenished and the tables needed to be cleaned more often.

We stayed here as party of nine in 4 rooms for wembley cup final . The hotel is excellent suituated if you wish to drive to london . It has a great location a stones throw from thd docklands railway . Check in was excellent with the reception very helpful and even though we arrived early they told us our rooms would be ready the minute we arrived back even though itwould be late . The room was spotless and clean . Dining was very poor we ordered 9 meals and these came out at ten minute intervals so between the first and last meal coming was one and a half hours .thd food ranged from hot to lukewarm to cold this was really not acceptable but due to the late hour we felt complaining was futile as we had children who just wanted to go to sleep . The breakfast was a great improvement on the dining but thdn again it couldnt be any worse . The food was hot good selection and good quality . Overall its a good hotel with excellent reception staff and clean but badly let down by the dinner experience . I would stay here again but would not eat on an evening

This is the lowest of the very low budget hotels. Poor staff, poor rooms and poor maintenance throughout, despite being less than a year old. Broken shower, dirty towel, etc. ONLY book if you want a cheap bed for the night, don't mind being roasted as you sleep, can shower under a teaspoon of water and are happy to skip the 'buffet breakfast' which I would NOT recommend.

We stayed here for an exhibition at Excel. Location was great. Just a 5 minute walk. Room was clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially Ronnie who went out of his way to help us when we needed anything.
