The hotel was more like a motel in the States, very basic but clean and efficient. We only stayed 2 nights but arrived very late the first night. It is a bit far from the underground. I would stay again.

I stayed at the Ibis Whitechapel in May 2014 as part of a 40th birthday celebration. My (disabled) mother and I stayed there after watching two west end shows in the day and evening. We arrived late, around 11 pm to encounter our first and only problem: the access lift for disabled people wasn't working. This hotel is based on the first floor upwards of the building and so you need to be able to climb about 7 stairs to reach the main lift. They DO have a disabled lift, but we couldn't get it to work. However I nipped up to reception and immediately two male staff members came down and carried my Mum's electric scooter up the stairs. Luckily my Mother was able to struggle up the stairs, but if she had not, I'm confident that the staff would have carried her too!
After that everything was super, check in was quick and easy (they are obviously used to late night arrivals). The disabled room was thoughtfully laid out with a wet room/walk in shower with a fold down seat. Hanging space was provided at wheelchair accessible height and the usual grab rails by the loo. And there was plenty of space in the room to move around with a wheelchair too.
Breakfast was lovely, all the usual freshly baked croissants, toast, cereals, yogurt and fruit. Also the machine that dispenses the hot drinks was really good, I'm a bit of a coffee connoisseur, but the latte dispensed by the machine was creamy, frothy and strong!
Check out was quick too, and when I mentioned the problem with the disabled lift to the manager he escorted us downstairs and helped us to exit the building. He also waited to make sure that we got a taxi! Will definitely use again when next in London.
Pros:
clean, cheap, great service
Cons:
not in central London, so taxi was about £20 at night time rates (including tip).

Room Tip: Disabled rooms are on the first floor near reception, make your needs known if you need wheelchair a...

The room is'nt big but has all the essential amenities (aircondition, hot water all the time and even free wifi at all areas of the hotel) Tip: You can ask for a hairdryer from the reception, they provide it for free (you have to deposit a small amount of money 10 pounds and they return back at check-out).
All staff were extremely polite and helpful. I would also like to mention that the room was very clear and quiet during night hours. We also loved the environmental approach of the cleaning process with the towels etc.
Breakfast and coffees (various types) were fantastic and will cover most of your habits i.e. jam, honey, croissants, cheese, ham, cereal, toast, yogurt, cupcakes, nutella.
The absence of shampoo was a little bit annoying thing but it's ok, there is a tesco express nearby you can buy whatever you need (soap was provided regularly).

In conclusion the room/hotel was everything we could ask for. It's recommended for sure and we will certainly book it next time we visit London.

Regards,
Stelios & Ioanna

We paid £63 for a room in zone 1 central London and so were really not expecting much. However the was clean small but well proportioned. It had a flat screen TV a great shower and firm but comfortable bed. Best of all check out was 12! Would recommend!

Arrived late a thursdag in may 2014, and immediately felt cared for by the staff. They helped us with some extra pillows and an extra duvet, since we were two friends and not a couple sharing a bed.

Very good noise reduction in the room, since we heard a lot of traffic noises when opening the window. The aricondition made it ok to sleep without needing to open the window during nighttime.

Only problem with the room was that there were no towel for the feet, so when the first person had showered, the floor outside the shower was all wet because of a gap between the shower and the door.

Breakfast was ok, but there could have been some cucumber and tomatoes to go with the cheese and ham. Very clean and nice breakfast room ajacent to the reception. Staff were very nice during our stay. Very service minded. :-)

Neighbourhood seemed a bit scary at first, but people in this part of the town (east) were very kind and helpful. We felt safe all the time at any part of the day or night. We will definately consider staying here the next time we`re in London.

Stayed here 1 night before catching the early train from Liverpool St to Stansted Airport.

As both me and my husband have lived in London the area was no great shock to us as we love the East and the location was perfect for the tube, Stansted Express and Brick Lane for a Curry. If history your thing it's a short walk to some Christopher Wren architecture as well as the 10 Bells Pub famed for being the place where Jack the Ripper met 2 of his victims.

We shared a 3 person room which was a double bed with single bunk. The room was clean beds comfortable but if you want a bit of space this is not for you! But for £70 a night for 3 people it was cheaper and nicer than a hostel and in a great location!
