“Great hotel if you want to be in Ealing”
Reviewed 26 September 2013 via mobile

Booked this hotel last minute & was a good pick.
Room was very clean & modern with everything you'd need. I thought the cafetiere was a nice touch!
Ordered room service which was quick & very reasonable.
Would recommend this hotel if you need to be in this area. Saying that it was a 10 min walk to the tube station.

A spacious hotel room with a comfy bed, classy and attractive decor, in a good location for the shops and not far away from the tube station. Ordered dinner which was tasty and filling for about £10, a lovely little hotel and we would definately recommend it.

I haven't stayed at the Xanadu but I have attended meetings there on several occasions. At first nothing was too much trouble, the staff attended to our needs, nice jugs of water with ice and fruit, muffins and fresh coffee then over the months the standards slipped, the nice jugs of water and muffins disappeared. The coffee didn't get replaced until asked and finally they double booked our meeting and didn't bother telling us so we had to find another venue

We telephoned ahead to see if we could have early check in and were told that our room was actually ready and we could check in as soon as we arrived in London. The receptionist was extremely efficient and very welcoming. The room was a good size, the bedding was first class and the room was a joy to be in. Everything seemed to be new. We were at the front of the hotel but it was no problem as double glazing was excellent. We really liked the breakfast room and the way the food was displayed. My husband requested extra strong coffee and that arrived very quickly. If we needed to be in this part of London again we would definitely make Hotel Xanadu our first choice.

Room Tip: Only saw our room so cannot comment on any other room.

Dear Suzanne,

thank you very much for your time to leave a review about our hotel. Much appreciated.

It is nice to see you enjoyed your stay from the check-in to breakfast and the room. Yes, our hotel is very new indeed, it will be our 1st year since we have opened in September 2012. You will be pleased to hear that all of our rooms are almost identical so you can return to us with ease that your room will be as comfortable as your last one.

My team was delighted to read your review and we certainly hope to welcome you back at Xanadu in the future.

Best wishes,

We stayed here for three nights in August, and were very happy with everything except the one thing the hotel really can't change: it's location. It is an easy 5 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway Tube station, but that is half an hour's ride from most of the places in London that you actually want to visit. Just too far, really, to be able to pop back for an hour's feet up after a busy morning in the museums and before the West End.

However, everything else is great. Comfortable, clean rooms; nice staff; good breakfast (for which you pay extra, but it's comparably priced to anything you'd get elsewhere) and in a quiet street.

So if you're looking for something affordable within reach of London, don't hesitate.

We selected the hotel based on the good overall reviews so far. The room and bathroom were very well kept, tidy, clean, everything functioning perfectly well. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. No complaints in this regard. What really turned out to be a very weak point was the following: The windows can not be opened. In order to have enough fresh air during the night the air condition has to be switched on. As a consequence the air became extremely dry, for people wearing contact lenses this is especially unpleasant. Anyone being sensitive to dry air should avoid that place for that reason. Apart form that: Perfect.

I have stayed here a dozen nights during July and August. The rooms for disabled guests are the best I've experienced in London and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Comfortable bed with big soft pillows. The restaurant in the hotel is good and there is a very good choice in surrounding streets if you want to go out to eat. It may not be central London but it is worth the short journey out to Ealing. I recommend the cocktails and spiced peanuts at the bar - excellent cocktail waiter!

Room Tip: If you want a window open at night ask for a room at the back. Excellent large walk in shower for di...
