“Acceptable, but there are better easyHotels”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2013

Basically, I am a happy easyHotel customer. This was the second one I stayed in (the first one was the Edinburgh easHotel, the third one London Victoria). In every case I booked a small room without window - it's enough for me. Might be a problem if you travel with lots of luggage and intend to stay a long time, wasn't the case for me. If a good bed and a clean, very small bathroom are enough for you too and you can live out of your luggage for a few days, I recommend easyHotels. The small bathroom might be a problem for very large resp. overweight persons - there's really not a lot of manoeuvring space. - Well, but I have to say that of the three easyHotels I know, the room I stayed in at Old Street was a bit poorer than the others. The rooms in the other hotels were on one of the upper floors and made a thoroughly modern impression, like constructed in one pour. This one was on the ground floor and seemed a bit improvised for an easyHotel room. The bathroom was not the sleek plastic cabin I otherwise encountered - it was a bit larger, but also a bit shabbier (clean, but e.g. the flooring seemed to be somewhat loose). Also, the other easyHotels have television in the rooms, this one has not (it's okay, they state this fact on the web site). As I have seen connectors on the wall that looked like made for television, maybe they plan to introduce TV screens at some point in the future? - Friendly staff, good location. For easyHotels in general, I'd give four out of five points, for this one three. Not bad, but not quite as good as the others. You might still choose to stay there for the location, e.g. if you go to a concert in the Barbican. - For inexpensive English breakfast, I recommend The Masque Haunt, a nearby pub.

I booked the hotel 3 days in advance a standard room with window, price was £55.00 the room was clean although a bit small for two people, shower/wc small but adequate, staff friendly, hotel 5 min walk from old rd tube station but take exit 6, there is a good café opposite the hotel and gives discount to hotel customers, ideal for a one or two night stay.

Room Tip: don,t book a room with no window not much cheaper.

This place is just like a commercial building rather than a place for accommodation. The good news is the location is not bad with a 5 minutes walk to both train stations - Old Street / Barbican. Staffs are quite nice. But the room is EXTREMELY horrible. The toilet is very small that you could feel yourself being a fat guy when you try to turn around. The draining system is POOR while the room flooded every night after bathing. NO place to hang your clothes even if you have got your own hangers. The window is NOT openable and there is only a weak ventilation from the bathroom. And the biggest nightmare is - the room got NO TABLE! Yes there was NOTHING except a bed in the middle of the room. Hoping to have a small bedside table, a desk or even a small chair to put stuffs on? Not here definitely but maybe a small wooden chair in manger!

5 mins from the tube
Reception friendly
We paid £144 for 2 nights for 2 adults - bargain compared to anywhere else
Very clean
Bed comfy
Air con worked a treat!!!! We stayed during the heatwave!
No tea/coffee/hairdryer/iron so take your own and buy water for in the morning
NISA local shop just across the road
Timberyard is a one off coffee shop on the same road, well worth a visit for breakfast

Would use again, its an easyhotel, not the Ritz, just a bed for the night and a shower in the morning!!!!

On arrival, the room I was booked into smelled of urine, so I was 'upgraded' to a twin room with window which was comfortable and clean (apart from the shower curtain which was simply needed replacing).
The beds are quite soft and a bit lumpy, but the problem I had was that you can hear *everything* going on in the rooms either side of you - on one side I had a Japanese guy talking into his mobile all night long, on the other side - a couple of drunk Geordie women...not the best night's sleep.
So I guess if you bring ear plugs and don't mind soft lumpy mattresses, then this is a good deal.

We were staying in London for one night and were looking for somewhere affordable. I've stayed in a Tune Hotel before- which is going for the same sort of idea- and was looking to book one again, but prices had gone up due to me only booking a week or so before going.

I was a little apprehensive what it would be like, but felt it would be a much better bet than a B&B.

The guy behind the desk was lovely and placed us in a quiet room, explaing their were festivals on and that it was a decision that night between a larger room or a quieter room at the back, which was what available- which he didnt have to do.

The room was great FOR WHAT IT was, it was scrupulously clean, it wasn't small, the bed was firm and comfortable, their were i think 4 towels and frankly it could have been much much more orange than it was :-)

The bathroom was like one you'd get on a boat, in a cabin.

It completely infuriates me when people moan about storage or lack of shampoo or space or facilities- why are you expecting luxuries like that for £60 in cental London?

Also, lots of people have commented on the air conditioning, temperature etc, this was not an issue during our stay.

Room Tip: We mentioned wanting a good nights sleep and the receptionist was more than happy to suggest which w...

First of all this hotel is not as bad as I feared, I went on a stag do and all we wanted was a clean bed to stagger to after a night out. This hotel would of been perfect for that, its cheap, clean and is in a good location to get around London with Old Street station a short walk away.
The problem with this hotel was the heat, it was unbearably hot at night so much so it woke me up from my alcohol induced coma at 8 clock in the morning after just 3 hours sleep, trust me this is not a small feat. If i was to guess i would say the thermometer would of topped 35 degrees.
I understand that England is only hot about 2 days a year but this hotel advertises that ever room has heating and cooling facilities. i can confirm it does not, it has a small in the roof which seeps out a tiny amount of warm air no matter what you do with the 'climate control' buttons.

Its not a one star because it was bloody cheap, cheaper than some of the pints i bought! but they have to do something about the heat. may be in winter its better??

Room Tip: avoid any room that is painted orange......
