“Not great!!”
Reviewed 5 June 2013

We booked for one night as we wanted something in walking distance of Emirates Stadium. We booked in at the Pembury as instructed which looked lovely, we were then directed to a run down building, the stairway was in need of a good clean. We had the room at the top which was spacious and clean but very basic. It could do with an upgrade, the divan bed didn't have a valance but the bedding was fine. The bathroom had no plug for the bath but with sloping ceilings the shower had no hook so had to kneel in the bath and use the shower head, the towels were clean but worn. The grouting and silicone around the bath needed renewing. It wasn't clear on the confirmation that the breakfast was cereal and toast but you could get a cooked breakfast for £5.50 per person.

Well, we booked for 2 nights even though we were only using it for 2 nights due to camping outside the Emirates Stadium overnight for a gig, we planned on using the room to leave our stuff and then sleeping there the second night. We arrived, paid, given the key, walked into a very rundown building in need of a hoover, up the room...to discover someone elses bags in there. Went back to reception at the Pembury "oh sorry, wrong room key"...need less to say my car was used to hold my stuff over night while we werent there. We did stay in there 2nd night as anticipated, beds were comfy (then again anything would have been comfy after the 2 hours sleep i'd had outside Emirates night before), but we both decided to avoid the shower as looked pretty dirty, and considering the water in the sink took 5 mins to warm up...

I can't comment on breakfast as we didn't bother with it so don't know how good that was

It was basic, and i don't think we'll be returning, i think its just in need of a good overhaul and a bit of attention, but after the key incident...think i'll stay somewhere i can trust a bit more

Picked this hotel because of the location in respect of visiting central London & also because of the free car parking. I have been twice this year (feb & march) because I was impressed at such a nice hotel for a very reasonable price. Perfect for our needs.
The hotel is part of the pembury hotel (where you sign in) & is at the back of the hotel. From the outside, I admit it looks dated but its an old building but when you going the rooms, they are lovely. Yeah a bit basic but it's just a bed that's really needed & they are clean and comfortable. Had no problems with our stay either the.
Breakfast is basic continental but you can pay or a fry up so that's good. There is a counter selling other foods too (yummy cakes). The staff are friendly & the hotel s close to shops & the tube.

It's a good for value hotel that is a good stopping point for the centre of London. Will carry on returning to this hotel!

The access to the hotel was through another adjacent hotel(!).
The hall was smelly and decrepit, not possible to lock the door of the room.
The bathroom was unreal small: imagine a toilet, a sink and a showerroom on 2 square meter!
So we thought at least we could have a decent breakfast, but even that was depressing.
Not worth to be called a hotel!
It is a disgrace to lure people by offering a great discount, and then discover it's not even worth to pay 20 pounds per night. We payed about 50 pounds for one night which is way to much, even with discount. You're better off in a hostel!

The hotel itself looked quite nice, however our rooms were in an annexe that wasn't. Pokey rooms that didn't feel quite clean, and the bedding in a pile at the end of the bed, for guests to put on themselves! Breakfast started late so for people staying for business reasons this was pretty useless. Generally grotty and a terrible stay. Even considering London prices terrible value for money.
