I stay here quite regularly with work and I find the staff very friendly and helpful, always smiling and willing. I eat in the restaurant and the service from Anthony is exceptional, he's very professional, friendly and excels at creating the right balance of personal service without being intrusive. I sometimes have extra requests such as more tea/milk and ordering a taxi and the staff are efficient and pleasant in carrying out their duties. If I were the manager here I'd be proud of my team!

Room Tip: All good rooms, nice quiet location with good access to the main street.

Most of the Premier Inns these days are to a standard plan. With a few exceptions they are pretty much all the same, so any criticisms of one will apply to almost all of the Whitbread-owned chain.
The brutal computer terminal check-in is usually softened here with a helpful staff member. Some items, such as internet access, are not handled by the terminal, which rather defeats it's purpose.
Talking of internet access, it is rather patchy and a bit slow at times. But I have had much worse elsewhere.
The rooms are standard Premier Inn style, note that the rooms at the ends of the hotel on each floor do not have a bathroom but a small, cramped, shower-room. Not a problem when staying one night, but not so good when staying a week.
The rooms are exceptionally quiet for a central London hotel, much quieter than other Premier Inns in the area. The heating/aircon is not particularly efficient, and the available TV channels are sparse.
A major downside is the blaring musak in the public areas, particularly the restaurant. Requests to reduce the volume are not welcomed, and usually ignored. I cannot recommend eating here because of that. I stay here regularly only because my company requires it, and take breakfast elsewhere.
The Tesco's around the corner (towards the Crowne Plaza) is handy, there are not many restaurants in the immediate area, head in the direction of St. Paul's.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at each end of the corridors - show room without a bath.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a short trip to London. Staff are very friendly. Absolutely loved the buffet breakfast, alot better than other hotels we have stayed at that offer buffet breakfast. It was well worth the price. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed five nights at the London Premier Inn Blackfriars. The check in process was quick and easy. We had a double room on the forth floor. The room was spacious enough for two, clean bath and everything else you need in a hotel room. The best thing about this hotel was the very polite an nice staff. They were alsway very helpful and friendly. Even at the busiest times at breakfast. The breakfast buffet was good and we even had dinner once which was excellent as well. The location of the hotel is close to the undergound. Also pubs, shopping areas and restaurants are in close vincinity. It is about 200m away from Thames river. We think that it is awesome value for the price compared to other hotels from this category in London. If we come back to London we will stay here again, for sure!

My stay at Blackfriars Premier was excellent. The hotel itself was fantastic, beautifully appointed, restaurant and rooms ideal. I was a lone female traveller and the staff provided a warm and genuine welcome.

A short walk to St Paul's Cathedral and the Tate Modern, two stops from Blackfriars on the tube to Embankment and a short walk to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery or carry on the tube to the V&A, Science Museum or the RAH. The hotel I located off the main thoroughfare in a quiet side street. The usual budget hotel formula but done very very well here. Smartly dressed efficient and friendly staff help you with check in and answer any questions you might have. If you've checked in online it streamlines the process so we had very little to do other than enter our name and have our room keys dispensed from the terminal no fuss or waiting at all. They will look after your cases if you arrive before check in and after check out so you are free to make the most of your day of arrival and departure (not all budget hotels will do this so check). Our room was spotlessly clean and well maintained (no plumbing problems here) comfortable and quiet we couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast was the best I've ever had for a self serve buffet, there was just everything we could have wanted and more beautifully presented and even though at 9:30am when some buffets are looking a little tired with sorry looking congealed fried eggs swimming in half warmed fat not here they were freshly presented on small clean serving plates. At £8.25 the Premier breakfast has to be the best bargain around and will keep you going till lunch. even the breakfast staff were efficient smartly turned out and friendly it felt much less impersonal than these types of hotel can be.
If this review sounds too good to be true it's because we could hardly believe how good everything was done here. Full marks for Premier and the staff at Blackfriars.
