My husband and I recently spent three nights at South Place and absolutely loved it. The location gave us great access to the Tube but also allowed us to easily walk to places of interest in London. The room itself was beautiful, as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The gym was perfectly adequate for our needs and the steam/sauna were an added bonus.

We enjoyed an anniversary dinner in the hotel's Angler restaurant -- a Michelin-started restaurant atop the hotel. Amazing! Service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. It made for a very special evening.

What made our experience remarkable was the overall service. The staff are very attentive but also very welcoming. They go out of their way to make you comfortable.

We will definitely make this our go-to hotel for London trips ... business or pleasure.

Room Tip: Corner suites are fabulous!

Spent 3 nights at the South Place Hotel on a business trip based on the reviews on this site. We were not disappointed. The room was fantastic. The bed was super comfortable and the room very quiet. The service was impeccable. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

South Place Hotel is only 2 blocks from my office and 2 miles from my house, so I never thought I would end up staying there. But when my boyfriend had to have emergency eye surgery, he decided to stay at SPH for a few days, to be near to Moorfields Eye Hospital and staying somewhere where he didn’t need to use the stairs.

We ended up staying there for 3 nights, using both room service and the main restaurant (getting a reservation at the Angler on the weekend was impossible even for guests) and moving between rooms each night. Highlights:

- Although the rooms were small, they were by and large brilliantly designed, with nice touches. Blackout blinds covering the whole window. A toaster so you can toast your room service toast, rather than having soggy toast. Fresh milk in the fridge for your tea. Control panels with icons for the lights, so you don’t spend ages trying to figure out which switch is for which light. Generously sized toiletries. The ultimate was the hairdryer – in the closet, but there was a mirror on the back of the door and an outlet next to the drawer it was in, so you could use it right there.

- I would have gone completely nuts being trapped in a hotel room for three days, but the staff took good care of my boyfriend when I escaped to go to work or just for a few hours. They sent someone to help him move rooms, or to figure out how to get the radio on the TV so he could listen to music. They even sent a girl every two hours to give him his eye drops!

At the end of three days, my boyfriend was very reluctant to leave, so they gave us a late checkout of 1pm.

Throughout it all the staff were very accommodating and considerate of my boyfriend’s situation. The only real problems were that the menus got a bit repetitive (because we were stuck with one restaurant) and the design of the hotel didn’t have enough contrast for someone with a sight problem, but I doubt that would be a problem for anyone else!

We stayed at this hotel for six nights in the end of april this year. Modern and elegant with a covenient location near Liverpool Station. We enjoyed exploring the new areas in the eastern parts of London, Shoreditch etc. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and serviceminded. The room was elegant and the bathroom luxurious, eveningservice in the room. Highest quality of bed and linen etc. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but our favorite oatmealporidge was available at the next corner. M&S food across the street. Tea and coffemachine in the room. This hotel was rather expensive, but worth it! We will return :)

Lets face it, this new Hotel is just great !!
Good location, even if a bit quiet for the weekends, but very central anyway.
Great people (Best smile for "Mr Room service/breakfast" and best fun for Miss Barmaid at the "Garden")
Rooms are nice, and calm, prices are perfect for rooms, a bit pricey for extras though ...
Whats wrong ? Decoration of the "garden" not at all up to a design hotel standards, sorry
Other than that, its really a very good tip to remember for your next stay in London. I most defintely will stay at South Place Hotel !
And they have very nice Brunch too....

Dear TBOPARIS

Thank you for your recent feedback.

I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay so much. Our staff are a credit to the hotel and were so pleased to read your kind words.

I am sorry that you found the Garden fell below our usual standard. Following your comments we have changed the decoration and we are hoping to remove the cover entirely once the weather improves in the summer.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel when you next visit London.

Came here this winter, South Place Hotel should be listed as a place to visit in London.

The service is beyond incredible, the rooms (ours was standard) are incredibly well-appointed, spacious, and sleak. The room-service, whether it be a platter of 14 beers or a midnight gourmet burger, is top notch.

The hotel has many offerings, including an amazing lounge room with a pool table, an outdoor terrace bar located within the hotel (it's surrounded by 4 walls, yet open-air nonetheless), and a Michelin-starred restaurant (Angler) on the top floor that leaves many other reputable establishments trailing behind. The downstairs bar and lounge area was a great after-work spot, with the resident DJ playing on-point music.

All in all, I would not even consider going to another hotel in London (I have stayed at over 15 including Mandarin Oriental, the Ritz, 45 Park Lane etc...) and will be sure to recommend it to all my friends and family visiting London in the future.

Dear C R

Thank you for choosing South Place Hotel and rating it so highly.

Your comments are uplifting and as a hotel we are very proud to hear positive feedback from our guests. Since opening in September 2012, we have worked very hard to produce and maintain the best quality standards in a new modern hotel of London.

Our hotel restaurants and bars are very popular indeed with our own guests and local residents in London.

I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you, and your family and friends, to the hotel in the near future.

Warm regards

Me and my partner wanted to got out for a meal in Hoxton and this hotel was in the perfect location wise so we booked it. When we arrived we were informed we had been upgraded! Nice one! The front of house staff were excellent and we were taken up personally to our room and shown the facilities. The bed was comfortable and not hard, a walk in shower for two and a huge bath only accentuated the quality of the room. After a great night out and a sound sleep we went down to the breakfast area where the good service continued and the breakfast was delicious.

All in all a great night and only a five minute walk from Liverpool Street Station!

Would definitely recommend and stay again....
