Description: We love our humble Queensway Pub. We love Gin, Food & Live Music Thursday, Saturday & Sunday! We have a range of draught beers! We have a range of wines! We have a BIG range of spirits... but we are a prideful pub and don't do cocktails. BEER is the way! We have a function room fully self contained with a roof terrace available to hire and open to the public everyday from 7pm. Rite outside our entrance we have a florist belonging to the lovely Chris that brightens up our pub and all flowers are available for purchase from 9am to 18:30pm daily. If you have any questions we'd be happy to help.

The Prince Alfred has it all! Great service, good atmosphere, reasonably priced and best of all amazing food. We have visited on many occasions and it never fails to deliver. I would highly recommend

Stopped in Bayswater around the corner from this pub. Called in on day of arrival in London as needed sustinence before going into the city. Beer was alright. Food was awful, truly awful. Dont expect michelin food in a pub just reasonable portion that tastes like what it says on the menu.
Had fish and chips and wife had shepherds pie. The shepherds pie was served in a cereal bowl. it was frozen mixed veg with a bit of mince and gravy topped with mash and smothered in melted cheese. Looked bland and insipid tasted as it looked.
The fish and chips wre even worse. soggy greasy batter tasteless frozen fish and nuked green beans ( cant say i have ever had green beans with fish and chips)
Im an easy going bloke, hate complaining and try hard not to write a bad review but i wouldnt serve that dross up to a pet !!

This pub is a great location if you want to enjoy some warm atmosphere, lots of space, a beautiful fireplace, the ideal place if you want to drink something. I have heard they have live music also, but you should get info about the days of the events.
Very bad is the fact that the staff does not take orders at your table, but you have to order at the bar for food and drink: this is so bad, because it makes the bar look like a sort of McDonald! I had to wait a lot holding at the menu in my hands in an endless queue and this was very annoying.

I can only comment on the meal I had, which was the rump steak with mash and beans, steak was gristly and unevenly cooked, beans were squeaky but well boiled, mash was a miserable puddle of watery spuds and mushroom sauce was flavourless and watery.

It's a shame really, as its a lovely establishment and a haven from the ceaseless stream of people on Queensway. Pull a good pint as well.

First time, we visited Prince Alfred during the day for the late lunch and some drinks. We sat by the window, which is great to see busy Queensway. The food was ok, nothing thrilling but we enjoyed it. The service was good, people were smiling and the atmosphere was very nice, just a lazy quiet afternoon. Anf they have very nice fireplace there.
We came back next day (Sat) in the evening and, not surprisingly, the bottom pub part was full and very noisy. We could not find any space for 5 people, but fortunately, we could climb up to the second floor, to the so called sofa bar. It was very quiet, we could find place on the sofa. Smokers can smoke in the small terrace, so they do not have to come back down and outside. This time, food was not so good, pasta was even bad. But the staff, drinks etc. were ok again. And you can go outside to small balcony (drinks must be in the plastic cups though), which can be nice in the hot summer nights.
So my conclusion is that this is very nice place to have a drink(s) with friends in very nice ans friendly atmosphere, but i cannot recommend to eat here.
