Description: The Centre Page, has a menu that is best described as Traditional Modern British. There can be no doubting that this pub is serious about food.Sitting in our bar is truly a joy to behold, watching the hustle bustle of the city workers going about their daily life, then popping in for a quick beer or bite to eat, also seeing the tourists who are amazed and astounded by the “real British pub”. The amazingly friendly team will look after all your needs, from extra froth on your cappuccino to walking you to the Tube station.

If you want to pop your head in the door and have a look around do, but then leave.
This 'heritage pub could be charming but its all wrong and I speak as a born and bred Londoner.
The food was very mediocre and the service lamentable. I had to get up and find a waitress for every thing from the order to the bill. And this was in a very empty pub.
If you want to sit in a pub with wailing music and a large screen telly its for you but it certainly isn't a 'Dickens' like characterful pub experience.
This place needs much love and attention to make it into something special.

the quote in the title is according to a sign outside this pub.

bullet points:

- if this piece of fish wasn't out of a packet, i would be very surprised

- it was extremely greasy

- the chips were mediocre, and not all fully cooked

If you are looking to sit down with a pie [short crust pastry] and a pint of beer [on draught] before crossing the Millenium Bridge to The Globe...or....doing the same [apres preformance] then you're at the right place.
The atmosphere is that of an old city pub.
Thank's guys see you next year.

Full English Breakfast is a bargain here and well worth stopping for! No frills, good basic food, only £4.95 including a pot of tea - very good value for money! This set us up for the day and our walk across the Millenium Bridge to the attractions on the South Bank. A great way to get a family with hungry teenagers off to a good start if you don't want to pay hotel breakfast prices.

Not an issue for us, but could be for others - the toilets are dark and cramped and are down a wooden spiral staircase, not sure how you would go on if you were disabled?
