“Fantastic hotel in london for short trip or weddings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

My husband and I stayed in the Mercure Hotel Greenwich on the night of our wedding a year ago, when the hotel was only around 6 months old, and again last night for our 1 year anniversary. The Mercure hotel have been phenomenal on both occasions. We had an exceptional stay at our wedding. We had a large number of guests from Ireland and from London stay the night. All the rooms were very clean, beds large and comfortable and excellent shower en suites. The staff are all so friendly and down to earth. They were always available and helpful. Over half our wedding guests came back to the hotel bar for drinks after the reception and we all stayed in the early hours, due to the nice decor and atmosphere. We stayed in the suite on the 9th floor- absolutely stunning- floor to ceiling windows with panoramic views of london. Both my husband and I are well traveled and are Londoners. This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The Hotel offers special rates for wedding parties, and the new addition of the red carpet on the steps at the front make the hotel look grandiose and incredibly special. We had such a good time we came back on our 1st year anniversary and had another very special time. They made our room very special when we came in and left special gifts.
Thank you Mercure for looking after us so well on the most important days to us! We highly recommend you and will definitely come again.

Room Tip: All the rooms are really nice as the hotel is around 2 years old and shiny new. If it's a specia...

When i saw the hotel from outside i thought that i made bad choice but the second i went in i understood that its perfect place for my quiet and relaxing holidays. Receptionist Szabina was very friendly and helpfull. Never got chance to go to the bar but it looked really nice and fancy. Deluxe room 906 was really small for deluxe but the view through the window paid off. I really would stay there again and recommend to my friends.

A group off 4 of us stayed at this hotel from the 12th till the 14th. The hotel is situated approximately 5 minutes walk from Depford Bridge DLR station. As you walk up to the hotel you are greeted by red carpet leading upto the main entrance a little extra thing that makes you feel special. The hotel reception is in a large hall with 2 reception desks we where checked in within 2 minutes. We where staying in 2 privalage rooms on floors 8 & 9 room 807 had windows that stretched round the hotel giving you amazing views of canary warf and the city. Room 905 had amazing views also even in the distance you could see the London eye and the shard. The bathrooms are outstanding the shower is out off this world. Complimentary slippers and bathrobes where provided in both rooms as well as a complimentary minibar in each room. My only gripe about the room is we only found the controls for the electric windows the morning we where due to depart. You can control the lights air con via the TV. We booked breckfast for both days this was a bargain at £10 per person the food was piping hot and plenty to choose from cereals fruit pastrys to a full English there is also a set menu that you can order from so if you fancy a kipper or eggs benaddict you could have that if you wished. All the staff where extremely helpful nothing was to big or small for them. I for 1 will be recommending this hotel to anyone that is staying in London. So if you are on a business trip or staying for a few days like we did this hotel is perfect. We all can not wait to are next stay. Thanks to all at the Mecure for making are trip that bit more memorable

Stayed for 3 nights to visit Cutty Sark, Observatory etc etc. Hotel about 4 minutes easy walk from Deptford Bridge DLR in a quiet residential square & 15 mins from historic centre.
Building an interesting conversion from pre-war police section house. Reception staff friendly, efficient & helpful, as were the restaurant staff. I often stay at Mercure hotels these standard rooms can be slightly smaller than usual. I had rm 122 which was a standard double & it was ok for one, very clean, usual facilities with good separate shower/ toilet, but the space around the bed was very limited. Wi fi in that room was not good but elsewhere fine. I mentioned it to the desk staff & was offered another room but declined as it was not vital at that time as I was on a short break.
Usual breakfast choices with good service & small but good dinner menu.
Would use it again, but maybe a different room!

Just back from a business trip where we stayed here. Surprisingly unobtrusive from the street, but when you get to the entrance there is a red carpet on the front steps which prepares you for impressive interior. Don't get me wrong, this is not the 'Burj Al Arab,' but for a hotel chain, this is pretty impressive. Bedrooms are spacious, with well finished interiors and a good shower!

Breakfast was buffet style, but with the option of ordering from a set menu. Big bowls of fresh fruit, (not just apples and pears), a good selection of cereals, hot food and tea and coffee.

Drinks: we paid £40 for 3 cocktails and a whisky.

Overall, excellent accommodation, and well worth the price.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views

I have stayed here on around a dozen occasions in recent months (perhaps 40+ nights in total) and have always found the hotel to be quiet, elegant and comfortable with fantastic breakfasts.

It is a little out of the way, granted, but this is reflected in the pricing as I usually get a very fair rate.

As noted, you can either get the DLR to Deptford Bridge (around 35 minutes to Bank) or get a mainline train from Deptford to London Bridge or Cannon Street (less than 10 minutes). Onward travel to the West End would be another 15/20 minutes.

Recommended.

We booked here 30 mins before arriving with our three adult children after being let down elsewhere. The staff were all very helpful and made our stay a success. The rooms were stylish and very clean as was the rest of the hotel - lovely bar area. The hotel is close to a DLR station which was handy and is in a quiet area.
