Description: Take sanctuary from the street-level bustle and dive in to the flavours of the Mediterranean at Apero, the all-day neighbourghood brasserie nestled in the vaulted cellars of the Ampersand Hotel. With leather snugs, Spanish tiled floors and exposed bricks this intimate London restaurant and bar is where South Kensington chick meets Mediterranean zest. Apero chef Chris Golding isn't interested in stuffy gastronomy but creating great, unpretentious food packed with colour and fresh seasonal, ingredients. His easygoing menus are perfect for a relaxed meal, from breakfast to supper. Highlights include our popular sharing menus - flavourful Mediterranean-style eats that work at any hour - and the great value £12.00 Lunch special. Apero's bar is a convivial place to sample our quirky signature cocktails like the Tintoretto or L'Oiseau de Feu, all of them inspired by the collection at the Victoria and Albert museum. You can also experience The Ampersand's wine cellar in The Wine Room, adjacent to Apero, which seats 10 beneath a stunning chandelier. The Wine Room is available for private hire. Just ask our events team for details. Sharing Menu - £30 per person Lunch special - 2 courses/3 courses - £12.00/£15.00

Diner with the family after a long day arriving in London, staying at the hotel, Apero was an obvious option that turned out very good, original, complex in composition but very light dishes made to be ordered together and shared, we opt for the carte as the menu appears on the expensive side, food was very delicate and original mixture and flavor, very small portion and thus quite high money for value but friendly and quick service made it deserved, atmosphere in the semi undergrood restaurant is also very charming, bar diner possible.

I stayed at the Ampersand and was delighted to find Apero downstairs. Really fun spot under the hotel - loved the sharing - size plates, the beet root burger is a must!

Stayed in the Ampersand and had a quick drink here on our way out - had a really nice feel. Staff, as in the rest of the hotel, are excellent. Nice wine list and cocktail menu

Really lovely spot in South Kensington with imaginative brunch food like Turkish eggs with chilli, yoghurt and avo as well as classics such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Terrific value, especially for the smart location. There is also a brilliant cocktails list and great coffee. At night the menu is designed to share with great small plates and a decent wine list. Lots of talent in the kitchen and very efficient and friendly service.

Friends from home suggested we try The APERO restaurant while visiting London. I am so glad we took their advice! Since there were four of us our waitress suggested we use their "sharing menu." One of the options is to let the chef choose your menu. What followed was a delicious 6 course meal! The food was fresh, varied, wonderfully seasoned, and surprisingly light. I absolutely recommend The APERO! No one can tell me there are no good restaurants in London...not after eating there!
