Stayed here for a Friday and Saturday night.. the hotel didn't have a sign above the door and check in was a 5 min walk around the corner, the room was very warm but other than that had everything you would need. only a 5 min walk from Kensington Olympia tube

Stayed for one night on a work trip to a convention at Olympia. Very nice property which has been converted into studio apartments and as a lone female traveller felt very safe. The location was perfect - literally a couple of minutes to Olympia and the tube station.

The room was effectively a single room which a small kitchen unit built into a cupboard - a little cramped but fine for a short trip and it was nice to be able to make a bite to eat (though wouldn't tackle a full meal in there!).

The check in staff are only available at certain times but outside these times the staff at the sister hotel (one minute walk away) are on hand to help. They were more than happy to look after my case before check in and after check out to save me carrying it around the convention.

The building itself it's lovely. The decor looks very luxurious at first glance but on closer inspection it's rather shabby, with tiles missing and cracked flooring. The blind seemed to be permanently down - I couldn't find a way of raising it - so the room was a little dark. This didn't really matter for a one night trip but could get a little annoying if staying longer.

All in all though a good hotel considering the excellent location and costing about the same or less than a Travelodge-type place it's good value. Would stay here again for an event at Olympia without hesitation.

Everything was great. Clean and comfortable. Big room for London and the Kitchenette was super. The staff were really nice and friendly too. Appreciated the free biscuits, tea and water after a long day of travelling.

I booked this apartment for a weekend break in kensington. In the taxi on the way to the apartment I received a voicemail from kensington studios to say that the room was no longer available … the message was left at 5.20pm on the afternoon we were due to arrive! I tried to call back but nobody answered. We were able to walk in off the street and book a very nice hotel in central kensington at 6pm on a saturday evening …. for the same price as the apartment incidentally! The following day the apartments had the audacity to call and suggest that we were a 'no show' for the booking … If you like to book with peace of mind and/ or value professional interaction DO NOT book here

Room Tip: Don't book here

I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights in the Kensington Studio end of December. First impression is positive. Then you realise that your large bed has been fitted with a blanket suitable for a small bed... Since everybody is gone after 8pm, you spend the night freezing to death and tell the receptionist on the next morning about the issue. This guys, after stating "obviously, this is not right" promises that it will be fixed or a second blanket will be provided. Next evening, you come back to your room after a nice day in London to realise that NOTHING has changed. No second blanket, no information, nothing. Besides, a telephone keeps ringing over and over again. You realise that reception -closed- is on the other side of the wall. Bad luck for you. Someone from another hotel had to be called to make it stop at midnight. Next morning, the receptionist would blame the maid and make another vague promise: "This time, it will be alright!". Of course it was not and you spend your 3rd night fighting for a piece of blanket shaking with cold. Last morning, upon departure, the hopeless guy fakes some surprise and promises this time that a fraction of the stay will be refunded as a compensation and that an apology email will reach you... Guess what happens next? No email, no partial refund, no apology. You can go and get lost! You are just a tourist among millions that MAY never come back to this place so why bother? I'm not difficult and have always supportive positive feedback to most of the places I've visited but never felt insulted like this as a customer. Outrageous. Run away.

I stayed at The Kensington Studios for the third time in 3 months on Friday night. My first two stays were pleasant and apart from a shortage of cutlery for the number of occupants for the rooms I booked, I felt comfortable about booking for a third visit.

I cannot stress how different an experience this recent stay. We arrived to collect our key from the Russell Hotel to be met by a surly receptionist who was very rude in his manner and became more so when he demanded photo ID. Since when was it compulsory for a UK resident to carry ID within the UK?

On getting to our room the first thing my travelling companion commented on was how hot it was and the funny smell. The reason for both soon became apparent, an oil filled radiator was firing on full heat in the room obviously to dry the rain water that soon started pouring down the inside of the wall.

My next complaint is about the rug that was laid across the area between the sleeping and kitchen area, not for aesthetic reasons as one would think but to cover the very hazardous 3cm deep hole in the floor where it is missing a floor board. What were they hoping, that every time we walked over that area we would miraculously miss the hole?

We decided that due to our exhaustion, the lateness of the hour and our early appointment the next day to make the most of it as it was only for one night. Luckily we decided to sleep in the smaller of the beds together, furthest from the rain water wall, as the next morning when I checked for any possessions on the larger bed I found a collection of dead parasites - which appear to be fleas.

I cannot tell you how quickly we packed and left.

We are very disappointed to receive your negative feedback especially when you have had two pleasant stays with us previously. Please accept my sincere apologies and be assured from your previous visits that your latest experience is certainly not our usual standard. The member of staff mentioned in your review has been addressed, as has the maintenance team. The existing floor board was damaged and needed to be repaired with tools off site. Leaving a missing floor board overnight was clearly an error of judgment on the behalf of the maintenance team which will not happen again. Thank you for bringing the rain water issue to our attention as the issue is now being fixed. Pest control have assured us that there is no issue with fleas, nonetheless, I will be monitoring what you have mentioned very closely to confirm this for myself. Apologies once again, Management.

Clean, well located, comfortable, well laid out. Stayed 4 nights as my wife, working in kensinton freelance. Very central for getting about. Rooms were well presented with the 'kitchen' hidden behind a wardrobe type door. Small but all you needed. Thank You to Suda & his team.
