Owner description: The View from The Shard is the visitor attraction at the top of The Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe and London's newest landmark. At almost twice the height of any other viewing platform in London, it offers visitors spectacular 360 degree views over the UK's capital for up to 40 miles.

We visited on a clear day, mid-week in the school holidays. We had pre-bought our tickets and went straight up without queueing. Wasn't too busy at all. The view is truly excellent, you can see out past the M25, for example to the North Downs.

However, being that little bit East of central London, your views of many major London landmarks isn't as good as from the London Eye - unless you have a particular interest in seeing that bit further, I think the Eye gives better views of central London.

Finally, this is overpriced. £68 for two adults and a 4yo child. I'm glad we've done it, but at that price we won't be returning. Shame - the clear profiteering of the ticket price and gift shop leave a bad taste, despite the view being so lovely.

The foyer is well stocked with memorabilia, but buy on the way out. The view at the top was absolutely brilliant and the sun chose to shine. 360 degrees of London views and there are also static binoculars available. There is plenty of room to roam around and there are two decks. Most importantly there is also a champagne bar. The upper deck is slightly exposed to the elements which is fun. Absolutely worth a visit - highly recommended.

Yes, look, it's quite a view. Worth it, but a little on the pricey side, but yes, the views on a clear day, or night are stunning. Not so if you get a misty day, but luckily, we didn't on our visit and it was a thoroughly enjoyable hour or so. Even the lifts are a talking point and yes, you will instinctively bend your knees when you hit the last floor!

What an incredible experience! The views are out of this world! Its a view of London that is worth the money to see for yourself. The photographs don't do it justice!
We were booked to visit 17:30 so had to enter before 18:00. There were no queue's, it was a nice stroll through. You aren't packed in like cattle like most attractions which was perfect for me as I often have problems with enclosed spaces.
You have to go through security checks liek you would at an airport - bag scanner and body scanner. Perfectly understandable and if anything was a comfort that security was so tight (you are going yo be 68 floors above London after all!)
After the security checked you get asked if you would like a photo of the group for purchasing. You are then given a ticket to view it at the end. We didn't buy this but had one anyway. It was great comical value as there are screens just past this that shows individuals heads of different characters bodies!! Provided a few laughs! You have to get two lifts up to the top - changing half way up. I was expecting a rushing feeling of going up really quickly but I didn't even notice we'd moved.
We pre booked our tickets so opted to include a glass of champagne which made our visit all the more special. If you don't pre book its £10 a glass!!!!
You also have the option to go to another floor just above the 68th which is partly outside. It can be very windy so hold on to your skirt!! There are binocular type monitors that allow you to zoom in on certain areas. The amount of information provided could have been a little better though.
Allow plenty of time to visit as you can get distracted by the views!
