Travelodge London Clapham Junction Hotel

Stayed here for two nights this week and had a pleasant stay. We were allocated room 706 and really couldn't hear much noise at all from the outside which was quite remarkable considering how close this hotel is to Clapham Junction station and a number of bus stops. Sure, the room is basic and small, but at least Travelodge are upgrading their beds and bathrooms, personally I feel the bed is far superior to the beds you get at Premier Inn these days.

Location is fantastic, a minutes walk to the station and a short hop on an overland train to Victoria or even to Vauxhall to get on the Victoria Line for the underground. Lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance (The Falcon is a great Nicholson's pub and a bit further up the hill on Northcote Road is the Bank, run by Fullers and very pleasant). Jacks at the Junction is a good breakfast option and there is Whole Foods opposite as well, we didn't get to try Cafe Ole which is underneath the Travelodge.

We paid £72 for two nights, no other chain could get close to that price. Fantastic value. Good, friendly and helpful staff as well.

Highly recommended, just don't expect the Ritz!!

Great location, the recepcionist from Hungary did the check in promptly. The room was not luxury, but at that price you can't expect much more. There was only a standing shower with one towel even though I booked the room for double occupancy.

My experience was very different to other travellers....it may seem petty but as i usually stay in Premier Inns as a budget hotel this Travelodge seemed incredibly basic. 3 nights of no sleep due to poor sound proofing both from traffic and other noisy guests, a couple of minor niggles, only one towel and no hairdryer were resolved by the very helpful and friendly staff. The bathroom at times smelled of cigarette smoke which must have been coming in through the vent from another bathroom and there was a slight draft which caused to shower curtain to constantly cling to your legs whilst showering. The bed and pillows were comfortable, just a shame the noise kept me awake. Location for London perfect.

Room Tip: I would suggest the higher you are away from traffic and perhaps at the back?

We are really sorry to learn that you were unable to get a good night sleep due to internal and external noise stephaniebell. We do hope that all of our customers get a good night sleep when staying with us. Our staff will ask our customers to be courteous to other guests and request that they respect reasonable noise levels. Due to the city centre location it may be possible to hear external traffic noise; we try to reduce the noise from outside the hotel by having double or triple glazing.

This travelodge is excellently placed for travelling into Central London and the nearby facilities are amazing. The location felt extremely safe and the hotel staff were very accommodating. I will definitely be booking again!

Stayed here for 2 nights as attending a concert at Brixton. Hotel is brand new and in a great location close to everything. Rooms are basic but very modern clean and comfortable. Check in really easy, great price for London and well worth it. There is no cafe / bar in the hotel which would be nice, especially at night however there's a fantastic cafe right next door - great for breakfast.

We have started to stay regularly on our tips from the South Coast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Sound proofing is very good even though it is on a busy junction (there is a bit of noise from the building going up next door but only during the day). The staff are charming and efficient. And the cafe downstairs, Cafe Ole, is a fantastic bonus.

Room Tip: For the next few months ask for a room away from the building going on - but only if you are plannin...

Stayed there in summer and was quite surprised how clean and ok it was compared to the price. In this price range I only stayed in the Easy Hotel at Earls Court before and can say, the Travelodge is the much better choice. The rooms have enough space for a suitcases, a chair and a large bed, the towels and the room were clean. The main down was that we had a room to the street at the 1st floor, so it was quite loud, especially because ventilation was a problem. We would have loved to keep the window open over night, which wasn't possible due to the noise.
I have to add that one big pro doesn't even go to the Travelodge itself, but rather to the Café that is situated in the ground floor. It has great coffee and yummy breakfasts. I would sleep at the Travelodge again at this location, mainly because of the distance to good coffe and warm croissants.

We are really sorry to learn that you were unable to get a good night sleep due to external noise poetna. Unfortunately due to the central London location of this hotel, in spite of the measures that we put in place such as double or triple glazing, it is not always possible to completely reduce the noise outside the hotel.
