I stayed at the Travelodge Clapham Junction last night as part of an evening at the 2014 BT Sports Awards at Battersea Evolution.

The hotel is new; clean and provided everything I needed for a short stay. The staff were great, particularly Julienne on Reception, who greeted everyone with a smile and a sense of humour. There are 12 rooms on each of 7 floors.

Located close to the Clapham Junction Railway Station, some rooms that face the tracks can get a bit noisy, but the double glazing cuts most external noise out - pack a pair of earplugs just for insurance!

Bed was very comfortable, and the shower was just the job.

I declined the offer of the Travelodge 'Breakfast in a Box', and stumbled into Cafe Ole next door, who do a fantastic range of breakfast offerings to suit all tastes, including vegetarian. A Full English with toast; coffee or tea and orange juice was £6.50, which I thought was good value for London!

Would I use the hotel again? Definitely!

Room Tip: Unless you like trains, ask for a quieter room, facing onto Mossbury Road on the back of the Hotel (A colleague was in 407, which was one of these, so Room 7 on all floors should have this quieter aspect.

Basic hotel Simple rooms clean & well maintained great view of the railway from the high floors, only tea, coffee & a small bar of soap provided in the room no shower gel. The bathroom is a pre-formed pod with a nice roomy shower, because it only has a small lip the bathroom floor does get wet when you take a shower. Parking is at a premium in the area.

The Travelodge at Clapham Junction is one of the worst hotels I have experienced. The reception staff are unhelpful, wake you up in the night and have no care for you as a customer. Further problems occurred and I am still ( a month later) waiting to hear back from the manager.
Don't take the gamble with Travelodge - pay a bit more and stay at the Premier Inn!

Good location for London visit. The exceptionally warm welcome from the staff was a good start. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Train station across the road, restaurants and pubs close too. Will stay again!

The hotel is located 2 mins walk from clapham junction station and from there you can go anywhere in London. You can find supermarkets and places to go for something to eat or drink. Staff is helpful and very friendly and the rooms aren't really big but decent size. It can be a bit noisy for all the trains sometimes but after a long day in London you are so tired that u don't even notice that
