“Great Location and Spotless”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

Hubby and I stayed here and were very impressed. The hotel is new and spotlessly clean. The staff are very well trained and friendly. The location is fantastic, our room overlooked a park. It is just 2 mins from Bethnal Green tube station, which is on the Central Line. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. There is a terrific Italian restaurant just round the corner on Bethnal Green Road, which serves mountainous plates of pasta and is very good vaue for money. We will definitely be staying here again.

Recently opened in a rather run down area, but bus stop very close and tube station easy walk.
On Central line, only 13 minutes to central London [Oxford Circus], so good value compared with other hotels similar distance from centre.

Bed comfortable; room basic - e.g. no drawer, coat hook, tissues or shower gel. There was a tiny piece of soap and a good shower.

Breakfast was adequate; I would have preferred better quality orange juice, cooked tomatoes [tasteless and undercooked], and croissants [soggy and chewy rather than light and flakey].

We made a last minute decision to stay at this hotel following a long flight, and it more than exceeded expectations. We first opted to stay here because it was central and we were able to rent a car parking space nearby. Then we realised it was a fairly new hotel, and at just over £50 for a night it seemed like the perfect option. When we arrived early, the wonderfully welcoming people at reception allowed us to leave our bags behind the desk (including a huge suitcase and guitar case). When we returned, we were checked in just as easily. The room was clean and really nicely decorated, with a tv, a comfortable bed and lots of storage space. The bathroom was lovely, too - great shower and huge illuminated mirror. The only thing I would have liked (and this is really pushing it!) were a few toiletries. We wouldn't hesitate the stay here again, it was such a lovely, easily, friendly and convenient place to stay that I doubt it could have been any more suited to our needs. And one last shout out to the lovely staff - you really animated the place!

Didn't disappoint at all. Fascinating area - hotel opposite playing fields - 150M from BG tube. Friendly staff. Very clean. Very quiet at night (Sat&Sun!). Comfy bed. Good sound proofed windows. Sainsbury's & Tesco's nearby. You must go to the V&A Museum of Childhood too - a real surprise. Shoreditch, Spitalfields & Brick Lane all in walking distance (20 mins). We'll stay again.

This hotel location is just ok, but it is very close to the tube stop. At the end of the day you know what to expect from a Travelodge- no frills, with a relatively clean and modern room but cheap décor. The stay was worth what we paid for it, and you don't visit London to spend time in your bedroom. We did have to move rooms as our sink was blocked- the receptionist was pleasant enough about it, but could have been more helpful and attentive (she was glued to her smartphone when trying to deal with me). There are plenty of options in London, so overall probably wouldn't stay again, but certainly not a bad place to stay on a limited budget.
