“Great W/End”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

I found the Hotel a great starting point for exploring London, 3 minute walk from Tube Station some great small restaurants close by. Walk past Tube Station and turn left and there is Chinese, Italian and Indian restaurants there we went to Italian realm value for money, but be in early it seems to fill up after 20:00 hrs. A park opposite hotel were you can go for a run or a walk. There is a comedy show bar underneath the Hotel some weeks there is some very good comics on worth a look on the bar window to see who is on.

stayed here for one night on march 15th 2014, was very tidy and clean hotel comfortable room and bed, super breakfast in the bar café though could have done with better tap beer choice rather than becks and stella, just minutes walk from the tube and the mainline stations and not really far out of central London next stop from Liverpool street and on the central line which cuts right through London so excellent location to save you £s by being just off the main circle, in all would stay here again if it's a lower price than those closer to the centre, very friendly staff also

It is very near the tube (Central Line) so easy access to Oxford St or St Paul's for Tate Modern and is in a reasonable quiet area. It is located in a quiet side street although sometimes we could hear some trains going into Liverpool St station from our room but it didn't spoil our stay. There is a pleasant bar/restaurant but has a Sainsbury's Local nearby. This Travelodge is cheaper than other city centre ones and is very good value for money. We have used it before and will certainly use it again.

If you’re looking for a clean, functional, warm bedroom, and are not worried about views from windows (what views are possible on the fringe of a major city?), fancy wardrobes, trouser presses or immediate surrounding area, this venue is fine and reasonable (if booked long in advance).

Positives:
- Very cleanly presented rooms
- Comfortable bed (not a lot else in the room)
- Close to tube station (Central Line provides easy/wide access)
- Breakfast of reasonable quality (but add £15.00 for adult couple)
- Staff particularly friendly/helpful

Not so sparkly features:
- Water pressure not so strong
- Bathroom more of a ‘wet room’ (no bath mat)
- Soap bar thinner than after-dinner mint
- General location area not great
- For the area, £90+ (RO) might seem a bit steep to some (ie. early booking required)

Overall, if booked well in advance, entirely reasonable.

We stäyed there 3 days last week and it was amazing! Great position, the central line of the underground is near (2 minutes walk) the hotel, which is being renovating. The rooms are new and clean, if they were a little bigger, it would be perfect! The staff is great, we left the hotel at six am and since the breakfast-hall was closed until 8 am (sunday), the night before we left, they prepared us an amazing breakfast to take-away (2 big bags!!!).
I would stay there again!

We stayed here for just one night with kids to do all the 'touristy' London sights over half term. We had originally tried to book a travelodge more centrally located but they all seemed to be fully booked, and to be honest I'm glad they were, as in the end this travelodge was perfect for our stay. It is ideally situated just a 2 minute walk from the underground and only 10/15 minute ride from Central London stations. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and fantastic with our kids, the room was very clean and comfortable, the only gripe with me was that there didn't seem to be a hair dryer, but not the end of the world! The rooms were very quiet with no road noise and we all had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice and my 9 year old son certainly took full advantage of the buffet breakfast. The kids ate free so for £13, fantastic value which set us all up for the day. We plan further similar trips to london, and I would quite happily stay here every time and would highly recommend a stay here to anyone planning a trip to london!
