Travelodge London Bethnal Green

Clean, but very basic accommodation. Bed, bathroom, TV (domestic channels only) & tea / instant coffee facilities in the room. No wardrobe or drawers, so live out of your suitcase (which I really don't like).

Comfortable bed, with more pillows than needed. We slept well, but used the hotel only for sleeping.

Didn't try the breakfast, as we went for breakfast with family nearby.

Check in staff were pleasant & friendly.

It's very convenient for our needs, and has easy access to Westfield shopping mall (2 stops), & central London in opposite direction.

Worth booking for reasonable, clean & comfortable sleeping. We'll stay there again I'm sure.

This hotel does what is says and provides a simple, generally inexpensive stay in a convenient place and in fresh, modern surroundings. It suited my purpose very well, had easy access to tube and buses, provided a pleasant base to work from and is staffed by young, motivated people who seem to like their job and are customer-friendly.
It takes less than five minutes to walk there from the tube station but remember to take the exit for the Comedy Club, walk up the road and then turn right just after the pizza delivery shop. You'll see the hotel on the left and reception is on the first floor. I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to return.

The location is very good, ten minutes by tube and you are in the centre of London to see all the sites, shows or just to shop. Some great markets round this area and the Stratford sopping centre is only two stops from Bethnal, great shopping centre and is only a 15 min walk from the Olympic village centre etc.
In the Bethnal area there is some great eating places, from the Travel Lodge head towards the tube station then turn left after the bridge then about 100 metres up that road there is a great Italian restaurant and on the other side of the road is a great Chinese restaurant good value for money at both places.
Also in Bethnal that a lot of people are not aware of is the History of Toys, again leaving the Travel lodge head towards the Tube station and continue past the traffic lights and about 150 metres past the lights on the right hand side is the Museum, we went in to pass away an hour or so, while it was raining, four hours later we were still looking at toys we had when we were kids. Another bonus it was free and bought a couple of presents for the grandson.
Another plus there is a comic club underneath the Travel lodge worth keeping an eye who is on some very good comics have been on.
We were in room 112 no noise problem or any other issue that other reviewers have stated

We chose this hotel for the convenience of the location for our plans in London, and were aware that this may have to put up with some discomfort. We needn't have worried! The hotel staff were welcoming and the room was comfortable and very adequate for the price.
We had read reviews which mentioned the traffic noise so packed ear-plugs and these were necessary, as I can't sleep with the window closed and the noise from outside was intrusive. However, if you are happy to close the windows not a sound could be heard.
All in all, it was a very comfortable stay.

We decided to go to London for a weekend break after a very hard week. The hotel was really easy to find, parking outside of the hotel and reception very clean and welcoming. Staff very polite, confident and efficient.
Corridors and room absolutely spotless.
will recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and I'm sure that I will be back again. Thanks for making our stay just perfect

The hotel is in an accessible location, close to local shops and subway. The price of accommodation booked well in advance is highly favorable. The rooms are neat, clean and large enough. A great place for an overnight stay with a day tour of London.

This is a newish hotel with lovely staff. Having read other reviews we asked for a room on the top floor to avoid road/train noise. The staff warned me the the room might be hot but I thought hot was better than noisy. Unfortunately the room was both. There were two fans but they did little to mitigate the heat, and when we opened the window (it only opened a couple of inches) the noise was dreadful. We overlooked a narrow street with another another tall building (used as student accommodation) on the other side. The two tall buildings opposite each other on this narrow street seemed to create a noise tunnel which amplified the traffic, train, and other noises, from the Cambridge Heath road.
Our room was very small, there was a desktop with a kettle, tea, coffee, etc., and the lovely girls on reception gave us a jug of cold water too.
There was a flat screen TV on the wall, a five foot comfortable bed, and a plastic tub chair. There was nowhere to put the case . The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The shower/loo was the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel anywhere, and they don't provide toiletries, but the towels were lovely, large and fluffy. Everything was spotlessly clean, and for the price £67 in a very easily accessible part of London, close to the tube, trains, and buses, you can't really complain.
