“Two Into One”

Went to see this Ray Cooney farce and had a lovely surprise - Ray Cooney is playing the waiter. Worth going for this alone.

Great scenery, slick timing, and a fun production. Somewhat dated, but most of the audience were of an age to get all the jokes and innuendos. Think you have to like farce though.

“It all depends on the show”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2014

As a theatre venue it is nothing special. It is intimate (about 200 seats), ordinary (it's a wide rectangular space underground), but is good for seeing and hearing (well-raked seats and nowhere far from the stage).
We went to see "Two Into One", a farce written by Ray Cooney - very silly, very funny, and Ray Cooney, at the age of 81, plays a waiter and loves every minute of it.
Didn't try the restaurant, so can't comment on it. I would say give the theatre a try if a play you want to see is on. The standard of productions seems to be very good.

“Brilliant”

What a wonderful space this theatre is. The production of Candide was superb. Cast all had beautiful singing voices as well as being super actors. One of the best nights out at the theatre I've had.

“outstanding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014

Have just returned from a birthday weekend in London and just wanted to say that the highlight had to be the Menier's current production of Candide. What a wonderful up close and personal theatre experience and the cast and band were superb. Everybody was full of energy, humour and outstanding performances. For theatre lovers this venue is a real find.

“Fantastic Little Theatre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2013

We saw a matinee production of 'Candide' last weekend. What a show! The cast were so full of energy you had to wonder if they would have any in reserve for the evening. Not to worry, I'm sure they did.
We've been to the Menier several times and have always had a great time. Because it's so small, it has a very intimate feeling to it. In this production, several members of the audience were 'pressed into service' so to speak and became part of the show. The Menier's proximity to public transport links makes it very easy to get to and Borough Market and the attendant pubs and restaurants make for a very enjoyable afternoon or evening.
