Description: This is a modern British pub with all the quality and style that you would expect in Kensington, coupled with the comfort, delightful look and fine, fresh food that are synonymous with the quintessential Geronimo pub. Perfectly set in the oldest licensed building on Old Brompton Road, The Duke of Clarence was previously more renowned in the area for its brunch, burgers and bonhomie. However, it has now also gained an impressive reputation for the extensive wine list, selected by John Clevely and featuring everything from smooth classic reds to aromatic whites. Alongside a great range of beers, The Duke of Clarence can certainly satisfy the demanding residents of Kensington and beyond. Whether it's to watch the sport of the day or just watch the world pass by through the huge open windows, this is a superb spot for both stylish diners and drinkers.

This place is great for day drinking on either Saturday or Sunday or grabbing a drink after work. The layout is good and the service is pretty decent as well. It was recently renovated and it also has good food if you want to get a bite. If you want a table you should reserve one as they book up fast.

Great food. I had Irish stew, husband had chicken. Both really good. Service excellent; friendly and efficient. Comfortable place. Fell down on the hot drinks. Ordered black coffee and cup of tea. Black coffee came but with hot milk. Tea - oh dear - a pot of hot water with a wrapped tea bag on the side and no cold milk. The waiter was English too. People, you put the tea bag in the pot, then pour on boiling water, then take it to the customer with a jug of cold milk. Sigh.

This pub is one of the better in the south west area. Nice decor, good seating and equally good for drink after work or meal with friends. It is loud so don't go for a quiet or smart meal with the in-laws.
The food is great and staff always friendly - chorizo and squid salad always a winner and the salmon main is excellent.
Good choice of wines too. Always the top of the list when planning a night out with friends.

Dinner there was very pleasant. Not too noisy, good menu but not extensive. The food we had was very good, my wife had Gnocchi, she thoroughly enjoyed it, which is a good call as we have just spent three weeks in Italy. I had Steak it was cooked as I wanted. The wine list was good and not overpriced. The service we had was excellent and the place is very dog friendly. Nice environment.
