Just came from a great 4 night stay at the Wellesley hotel in London. Very intimate gorgeous hotel, beautiful decor and most important - incredible service. Our butler Ismail packed out suitcase when we were upgraded and moved us to an amazing suite overlooking Hyde Park ( Magdalena at the reception made that happen :}), Richard the concierge was fantastic, everyone at the hotel seem to know our name. And the Rolls Royce at our service was the icing on the cake.
We would return to London just to experience the hospitality of the Wellesley staff.

We stayed for one night on May 10th in a junior suite on the 4th floor. We were celebrating my birthday and I have to say will be a memorable one. After reading all the reports on here we certainly were not disappointed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The service from you stepping foot on the pavement outside is absolutely amazing, you are well and truly pampered and made to feel like royalty. The receptionist Ellie was amazing, very helpful and knowledgable and a credit to the hotel. Our Butler Ismail was most helpful and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. He was a true gent and made my birthday extra special by leaving a cake on our bed beautifully surrounded in rose petals.
The Rolls Royce was an added special touch which also made my birthday extra special. All the staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive.
If you are looking for a special weekend of luxury then look no further, absolutely fabulous!

My partner and I stayed 3 nights in room 206. The room was fairly large by London standards. The (mostly) frosted window offered no view at all. The room was lovely and luxurious in every detail, and was comfortable and quiet. We were aware of almost no other guests while we were there over the weekend, though there were many people about on Monday.

Breakfast was delicious and lovely. We ate in the restaurant once for a late night meal and had a small pizza, a couple of glasses of wine and split a dessert and the price was remarkably high for the quality of the food.

The concierges, Richard and David were absolutely fantastic. They helped make a number of arrangements before our arrival and steered us to fantastic restaurants. The doorman Nicholas was charming and helpful as well. There was a strike by Tube workers on the day of our departure and Richard and Nicholas helped us a great deal. In fact, because the traffic was terribly snarled, Nicholas and Maximilian ported our bags well over a block to get us to our ride to the train station.

The driver of the complimentary car (Cliff, was his name, we think) was so pleasant, and we really appreciated the availability of the car.

Someone posted in an earlier review that the whole hotel smelled of cigars/smoke. This was not our experience at all. The smoking happens outdoors. I occasionally caught a whiff in passing the smoking garden, but nothing more than that.

Overall, we thought it was a great experience, principally because the room was luxurious and new and because of Richard, David and the others specifically mentioned above, as well as the housekeeping/butler staff whom we utilized little but who really kept the room in lovely shape every time we stepped out.

We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed for I night quite expensive £300 which excluded breakfast. Hotel is quite new so the interior is very clean. Our room was quite small, and we were unable to get any fresh air as the window/door was locked . Location is good for Harrods etc,

We stayed here as part of a trip to London for my girlfriend's 30th birthday and were pleased that our room had been upgraded. We arrived at the hotel 30mins early and our room was not ready so we decided to enjoy some lunch in the lovely terrace with open fire and heaters. The pizza we had was ok if a little soggy. We were disappointed when the receptionist came to tell us our room was still not ready. An hour after check in time we went to see for ourselves but told the room was still not ready and we were given the tour to waste some time. There was no attempt to make this up to us. This would not usually be too much of an issue but we had booked a trip on the British Pullman and needed to get ready. When we did get into our room it was fantastic. Lots of mod-cons including a TV in the bathroom. One downside was there no mirror in the "vanity" in the bedroom. One of the upsides to our stay here was being able to make use of the hotel's complimentary Rolls Royce to the train station for our trip which we thoroughly enjoyed! The doorman was lovely and friendly and very helpful!

All in all our stay was pleasant but on this occasion was maybe not the standard we would have expected from a 5 star hotel, although we would certainly consider staying again.
