I've just moved to Rotherhithe and I am sampling the local cafes. So on a snowy Sunday morning my partner and I visited the Watch House for monring coffee. The Watch House was built in 1821 to watch the graveyeard of St Mary's Church to prevent grave robbing so the cafe is housed in an interesting building in a historic area. The staff were very friendly and the coffee and almond crossants were really good. On a subsequent visit my partner tried the vegan coconut cake which was also deemed excellent. By the time we left all the tables were full with locals who seem to visit regularly - that in itself has to be a good recommendation! So a great place to call in when you are in the area.
