“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

This was my second visit and the place has been extensively refurbished since my last visit. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable including towels, toiletries, tv, and a phone. Plenty of hot water and adequately heated room. I was on the 4th floor facing Waterloo East station and this was noisy. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to help. Breakfast was delicious with good choice, hot and tasty. It was extremely helpful of the hotel to allow me to leave my case for the entire day with reception once I had vacated the room for £1. I will return but will rebook for a room not facing the station.

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor and make sure you are not facing the station otherwise you cannot keep the win...

This was a repeat visit which always brings basic, but clean and comfortable accommodation and great value heart.y food and drink. If you get a room on a lower floor facing the railway it could be noisy!

Room Tip: Book well in advance and ask for a room not facing railway

Even when under some considerable refurbishment, the service and comfort provided was excellent. All Staff make a stay here pleasurable. Well appointed rooms with excellent facilities. The restaurant and Bar offer excellent value and the service is second to none.

Room Tip: All excellent. As this is central London, don't expect a view.

Have stayed here many many times. The most incredible location, a stones throw from Waterloo station and around the corner from London eye. Rooms are basic but clean & value for money. Stayed for New Years Eve, (got to be best price in city for NYE) but be aware that the bridges shut so if watching the fireworks from the other side of the river, it's quite a walk and some dodgy detours because of road shutting for New Year's Day parade. But always an honour to be able to stay here.

As en ex serviceman I was looking forward to visiting the UJC whilst visiting friends in London. Unfortunately we were refused entry into the bar as I had no proof of having served on me.
Got the impression unless you are of a certain age or currently serving you're not really welcome.
I won't let it put me off and will take appropriate ID next time as I have heard nothing but good things from former colleagues who have used the club on many occasions (I'll maybe have a shave and try not to look to rough).

We Stayed for 2 nights to welcome in the New Year and watch the New Years parade the following day.
The hotel is situated a stones throw from Waterloo station and offers Single, Twin, and Double, rooms, Flats & Suites, en suite with TV, tea, coffee & towels.
They offer an excellent Choice of English and continental breakfast for around £8 extra, bar snacks throughout the day and an agreeable 3 course dinner for under £20 each. We loved the excellent coffee shop and I challenge anyone to find a good Flat white coffee for £1.20 in the country let alone London.
We watched the fireworks from the fantastic view of the London Eye from windows on the 23rd floor (Sadly we could still hear Gary Barlow but you can't have everything ) Sorry Gaz :).
It was our second stay in 6 months and knocks spots off the budget hotels ( and you know who you are ) ;o )
The rooms are comfortable, competitively priced and spotlessly clean. The staff are warm friendly and helpful,
We will be back.

Was put up in the Union Jacks Club for a course I attended in London was great for a bed for the night- very old fashioned but it didn't bother me - dinner and breakfast were very nice too. Perfect for a short stay.
