A group of us saw Billy Elliot at the Palace Theatre recently. The show was brilliant and I would have normally given such a good production an "Excellent" score.

However, if you are considering booking tickets under NO circumstances should you choose seats in the grand circle unless you are considerably less than 5 feet tall and weight no more than 7 stones! The seats are extremely narrow and there's very little room between the rows. Definitely not suitable for the average person and purgatory for anyone a little larger. It was a very uncomfortable three and a half hours interspersed with stoppages for cast sickness; unavoidable and I do sympathise; and technical breakdown; which was unavoidable had the equipment been tested properly prior to curtain-up.

Drinks in the bar were extortionate and the toilet facilities in the bar were shabby and not very clean which also soured the evening somewhat.

Finally, if you do go and have a similar experience, there's no point complaining to the management as it gets you absolutely nowhere.

Just saw Billy Elliott at Victoria Palace Theatre.
We sat in E5,E6 in the Grand Circle. Great seats looking down on the production and what a production it was.
Not much leg room in these seats, but didn't worry us as the show was so good. Don't recommend you purchase these seas if you are tall.
The theatre is well equipped with plenty of staff, bars, toilets & memorabillia shops.
The architecture was something grand to look at especially as we were sitting high up in the theatre.

Saw Billy Elliot there a few months ago. The show is brilliant - the sets are well designed and the actors are amazing. The theatre itself is in a good location literally behind the London Victoria Station. We were able to get cheap tickets in the nosebleeds but I never felt like I was missing anything - never felt like I couldn't see. I recommend it!

In London for the weekend and saw Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre on the Friday night.
It got a well deserved standing ovation. I can't praise it enough. Saw it 9 years ago in London with my husband and it was excellent then as well.
I have seen many shows in my life but this one is still one of the best.
Roadworks and building work around the theatre are a nuisance so don't go too early. There is a bar in the foyer of the theatre but only a few tables and chairs so be prepared to stand with a drink.

Have been chasing Billy Elliot for around two years, had to cancel a couple of tickets last year when trying to see it in New York. But the wait to see it in London was well worth it. The Victoria Palace is a wonderful old Victorian theatre. You absorb the atmosphere; it has a feel, a character so that, by curtain up, you are already in a state of anticipation and excitement. True the road outside is a horrendous mess of construction and scaffolding but that was easy to block out. Nothing takes away the thrill of live theatre. The production was everything we could have hoped for, a delightful evening. Any disappointments? Only the wish that patrons would dress up a little for a performance. Ragged jeans, t-shirts and running shoes detract from the sense of occasion.
