My wife and i were visiting London for our 1st Year wedding anniversary. After a few hours in the sun exploring the many shops and market stores on the Sunday we fancied a sit down away from the hustle and bustle to chill for an hour.

Service was quick and friendly and we managed to find a couple of seats. Great London traditional pub and a nice cold beer.

Recommend for a quiet Sunday lunch pint...

Love this pub as we work next door. We've been going since 2002 and it's a good spit-and-sawdust pub. The staff are always friendly. Prices are what you would expect in London. It does get busy later in the evening especially Friday and Saturday but we usually go in around 5 for a couple of hours. The landlord John sadly died a couple of years ago but his wife and daughter very capably carry on running this lovely place. We don't usually eat there but they do quite good a varied pub food all day. A good choice for a drink and a rest if you're out and about in Camden Town

Typical English pub, good atmosphere. at the entrance of Camden. I was very disappointed with the food. We took a regular hamburger, lacked flavor. Avoid the veggie burger, is only vegetables and crushed potatoes, all fried in a pancake.
Wait to be in the heart of Candem to eat. There are plenty of small restaurants that are delicious.

On this particular day we were in search of both pie. And in this pub this is exactly what we found. Situated on Camden High Street, in the business of the street, we nearly walked straight past. So glad we didn't. When we walked into the pub, it took time for us to find a table, as it seemed a popular choice for many. We choose to both have the special of a steak and ale pie with mash, mushy pies and gravy with a soft drink, which amazingly came to under £22 for the two of us. Service was swift and within 15 minutes we were tucking in. The food was very tasty, though due to us both originating from more Northern climates, we were a tad disappointed with the thin consistency of the gravy served in a jug with the pie. Overall, a very yummy and hearty meal though, definitely recommend.
