“Great food and personal service”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

The La Regina has friendly, attentive owners and wait staff. It has a varied selection of entrées on the menu. Service was good and portions just right. The food was delicious at reasonable prices. Our dinners were a pleasant experience. It was quieter than most restaurants and we liked the soft background music.

“Convenient,friendly,tasty and good value”

If you want a delicious italian meal across the road from Kings Cross station this is the place!
Visited La Regina yesterday with wife and two young grandchildren and were given a good welcome. Good choice of menu with a small kiddies section although the portions were big. Excellent house white wine (Sauvignon blanc) nicely chilled. Lovely Parma ham and melon starter followed by a Lasagne which was cooked from a traditional italian recipe and could not be faulted. My wife and the children enjoyed their pizzas in fact the kids said they wanted to return next time we came to London -praise indeed. We did not try the sweets as we had had an elegant sufficiency. I said I was surprised that Amaretto was not on their printed bar list but was not disappointed- two were promptly supplied on the house! A lovely finish to our day in London and having visited their loos which were the cleanest we had been in all day we reluctantly crossed the road for our train home.

The service was friendly but slightly stumbling. Pizza was average but nothing special. Nice, clean little place.

“Nothing special.. Disappointed. ”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 via mobile

The staff was very friendly, it's a good looking restaurant, but the food.. Well there much to say about that. We started with a bruschetta, normally we expect like 3-4 pieces which is normal in most restaurants, but now there was only 1 lonely piece of bread. It tasted good, but charging almost 5£ is crazy for 1 little piece of bread With some tomato pieces. For our main dish we ordered both tagliatelli frutti di mare. Very small portion, no cheese at the table, tagliatelli wasn't fresh, and not very high quality, the sauce was just plain tomato sauce with some parcley. The clams broke and was all over the plate, so a lot of fishing for shells.. We asked for some bread. With the pasta which is normal procedure for me? The charged me 2,5£ for it. For the most expensive pasta dish (13,5£) we expected a lot more. For me this wasn't a real Italian restaurant, just an attempt. I will not be eating here again soon, maybe a pizza, definitely no more pasta or antipasti for me!

“Nice little Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

A surprise awaited us at La Regina - the BEST by far appetizer of the trip: Cocktail de Gambreretti, a lovely combination of shrimp and avocado in a yummy sauce. The Fruiti de Mare was acceptable (I wish I had known it had mussels and calamari, both of which I hate, but once I picked out the mussels, I still managed to eat every bite!), the Tagliatelle Boscaila excellent, and even their humble pizza was very good. Lots of vegetarian choices, and the price was VERY reasonable.
