There are actually 2 studios, next door to each other (up one flight of stairs from street level. I'd booked the double but as there was a heatwave and the double was much hotter (and on a busy street) I took the quieter, cooler single. It's basically like a dorm room with small shower-WC room and kitchenette, both with doors. Kitchen has fridge, microwave, electric kettle, 1 mug, 1 knife; no other dishes or cutlery, but the landlord, Jay, was very accommodating and might provide if other stuff is needed.
The building is just off the Caledonian Road, very easy to reach from St Pancras-King's Cross by foot or bus. Barnsbury, Islington, is an interesting, multicultural, rapidly gentrifying area.
My only complaint - and it was so slight that I didn't bother Jay about it - was that the shower had next to no water pressure. Aside from that, everything worked as advertised. Modest digs but good value for money.
