“Great location”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

The hotel is perfectly located for both St Pancras and Kings Cross stations and also only a 10 minute walk from Euston. It was ideal for all public transport for sightseeing and also for our onward journey to Paris. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, the corridors and public spaces are full of light and the bedrooms well designed albeit rather snug. Free wifii, films, bottled water and the pantry with tea, coffee, cakes and fresh milk were all major plus points as were the quality beds and super sound proofing. We ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and the food, wines and service were all very good. The minus points include no full length mirror, in fact no mirror near a socket to do your hair, and very little space to hang clothes or put a suitcase. The cocktail bar next to the restaurant was very small and the service slow. Despite these negatives the hotel is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just one overnighter as a treat to myself! The Portuguese guys at Reception were lively and told me I had a upgrade, which was very nice. Shown to my room and shown the facilities, including that Pantry at the end of the floor. Great breakfast too, if a little pricey.

Room Tip: Cannot say which rooms are better than the others.

Fantastic hotel, ideally located right next to Kings Cross Station. We have stayed here a few times over the last 2/3 years, everything from reception to checkout and everything in between is very professional and friendly. The hotel is furnished to a very high standard, everything works in the bedroom, beds are very comfortable and considering it's location the rooms (we have stayed in) are well soundproofed. A nice touch is on each landing they have a small (free of charge!) pantry where they supply tea and coffee making facility and a selection of cake and biscuits and sweets, not seen this in any other hotel of this standard and it's just another way this hotel expresses it's desire to look after their guests. We have had breakfast here a few times and again top quality and a great selection, normally we are up and out early so don't always eat in the hotel, lots of other places to explore in London after all ! Likewise we have eaten dinner in the restaurant and again no complaints, very professional service and lovely food. The hotel bar called The Plum & Spilt Milk bar is a great place to sit outside and people watch, they also serve great cocktails!

Room Tip: We always have a cubitt room as they are slightly larger, if you request a room with a bath (they do...

We stayed at this newly renovated hotel for four nights. Here are the pros: The newly refurbished rooms look fantastic and modern. The rooms were fitted to a very high standard and considering the hotel was built years ago, they worked miracles. The floors each have their own pantry areas where guests can make, tea, coffe or have some cake (I don't know where hotel got there cake from but it was very good). I had no problem using Wi-FI in our room and the TV channels were sufficient. Kings Cross station is right on your doorstep and catching a train will be a breeze. Cons: While the rooms are comfortable, they are small. If you have multiple pieces of luggage it will be hard to unpack and hang up your clothes. The room we stayed in had no dresser or wardrobe. Since this hotel is located right Outside of Kings Cross Station and right next to St. Pancras, there is alot of noise. The bath rooms were of a high standard but again, lack of counter space was an issue. Overall I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.

Stayed at the GNH for a night before getting a Eurostar, which is conveniently just across the road from the hotel. The Hotel is very beautifully refurbished with high quality fittings, it is somewhere between boutique and grand Victorian hotel style and we stayed in a Cubitt room that was a good size and well appointed with places to sit and plenty room for luggage etc.

One great idea is the Pantry on each floor where cakes, biscuits and a great coffee machine is laid on for guests to help themselves too. The shower was great and the rooms are sound proofed from the outside world and we didn't notice Kings Cross station at all. The restaurant Plum and Spilt Milk is superb and well worth a visit. Couple of tiny negatives; we weren't far from the stairwell and the door to it could be heard shutting during the night, a soft closer is needed and also in the room itself by the door is a greenish nightlight that glows all night, maybe there is a way of switching it off but I didn't find it and it is a little intrusive.

Overall though this is a great place to stay and much better value than the st Pancras with great rooms and facilities and we would happily stay again.

A great little boutique hotel. Bright and airy. The Cubitt room was small but charming and well laid out so it felt bigger than it actually was. The location is fab with both Kings Cross and St. Pancras as well as the Tube right outside your door. Which made the very quiet room for sleeping a real surprise. The pantry was a lovely touch as a sweet and a cup of tea at the end of the day was a nice treat. Staff was excellent and the restaurant served a great breakfast. Good place for a meeting as well. I would recommend it.
