Both the wife and I had a nice time in this lovely little Wetherspoons. We ended up leaving central London to come to this pub because it was far far cheaper than in the Centre of the city. The flowers in the front outdoor seating area were lovely as was the drinks that we had - haig club whisky, a few cans of IPA to name a couple.

Staff were friendly, as were the two doormen later on. Very busy pub and I can see why. Will be returning here again next time we are in London

Another day, another Spoons.

A splendid early Saturday evening in late May and the single main inside room of the SD was getting busy although the outside drinking area had already aided interior accommodation pressures throughout the day, on account of all that sunshine. Situated just over the road from Surrey Quays station, itself formerly named the same as the pub until 1989 but renamed when the large nearby Surrey Quays shopping centre opened.

It's good that Spoons have kept the docks name to the establishment, rather than also calling it Quays as the area has such a massive docks history that it's important to maintain that link to the past.

We had a few beers and the usual excellent Spoons value was in evidence, as was the wide range of people drinking there, reflective of the location and that the SD is a proper community local.

Staff were friendly and quick to serve. It can get busy on Millwall home match days as it's only just under a mile from the Den and makes a very economical pre and post-match drinking spot as a result.

Took my small well behaved dog out for a stroll with my girlfriend
Sat outside to enjoy a cool evening and a couple of drinks
Then refused service on second drinks because of the dog and "health and safety"
Load of ball no reason not to serve dog owners at all.
