This is conveniently located near the Vauxhall tube station however that also comes with its downsides. I was placed in a room with a railway bridge right outside my window, and had constant noise throughout the night. It also made the room so dark it felt like winter, despite the fact this was in June. Other than that the room was a typical Travelodge room and was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a rather sad affair, with a rather paltry buffet. Best bet would be to go out as there are lots of better options around.

This hotel is the nearest to the new US embassy . It is pretty basic, we opted for the plus room - but still fairly basic. Never used any of the facilities - there seemed to be a restaurant . Toilet /shower is very small . Room is very compact . It did have a nice seat by the window and had a lavazza coffee machine though. We desperately needed a document printed the morning of our departure and there was no way of getting it printed in the hotel , even asked at reception in a total panic but nothing could be done. Had to rush and find a place nearby thankfully. Decent transport links via foot /tube/rail or bus . Loads of development around this area at the moment and it is very near the southbank walk. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops on hand , all a Waitrose next door and a Tesco and Sainsbury’s within a 2 min walk.

Conveniently located near Vauxhall tube station and 9 Elms, its a shame they completely ignored our request of being put in a quiet room at the back of the hotel and not road side.. we got placed right opposite the corridor entrance with door slamming every time someone entered or left the floor.. and on the road side.. luckily we were only there for 1 night which was more than enough. There is not much going on in the area but wanted to be close to the US embassy where we had an early appointment the next morning// but we had a really low rate which is why I dont give it a lower rating..

I stayed in this Travelodge four years ago and it is still mediocre. My expectations were not sky high as it is a no frills budget hotel.
The negatives were:
There were pools of water on the bathroom floor when I checked in and the bathroom bin had not been emptied from the previous occupant. It transpired that there was some sort of leak as even after mopping up one of the pools it had reappeared the next morning.
The food was bland and tasteless. I had dinner and breakfast there. I will not have dinner there again. It took ages to get served for dinner.
The positives were:
I had a big room and the bed was very comfortable. The soundproofing was very good and I could not hear any noise from the busy street outside.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall, a mediocre stay.

Call me old fashioned but where a room costs almost £200 for a night - even in central London - it should have a hairdryer as standard in the room.

Otherwise comfortable and quiet; did the job and staff at reception were friendly. But the standard of accommodation is so basic that it feels only slightly more comfortable than my university dorm room circa early '90s....

A tiny bit more effort would go a long way!
