The Sam Mendes production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is full of wonder, magic and heart. The characters and settings are true to the book and audiences cannot fail to be enchanted and enthralled by this spectacular work of theatre. There is one song from the original film but other than that, all the songs are original. You may be disappointed at first that there is no Oumpa Loumpa song etc, but the new songs are so catchy that you feel you've known them all along. Definitely worth watching. Excellent casting of the children and adult characters. They looked like they were having a ball.

We went to see Charlie And The Chocolate Factory as a family during our trip, after having seen both movies based on Roald Dahl's books. We absolutely loved the show!! We smiled and sang along the whole time! It was really interesting and the acting was great! We had great seats and would recommend this to all of our friends and family. A really unforgettable show that we will hold in our hearts forever.

What a fabulous theatrical experience. I went with my wife and 10 year old son and all 3 of us thought it was amazing. The scenery was incredible and acting was fantastic. I cannot understand the negative reviews at all. It seems they were watching a different show. We are already are thinking of going to see it again!

I took my son and husband to see this show recently using the "Kids Go free" offer during August. We had a fabulous time. The music was brilliant - really lively - even though there was only one song from the film. The characters were well cast and very funny. Add to that the Oompalumpas and the giant Squirrels and you had a great evening's entertainment. Would thoroughly recommend to all - whatever your age. It's brilliant. Extremely funny and very entertaining. you can't go wrong!
