Description: Situated on level 33 of The Shard, Hutong serves the fascinating and diverse cuisines of Northern China and is based on the much-loved restaurant of the same name in Hong Kong. Hutong’s cuisine takes its inspiration from the dishes served in the imperial palaces of what was then Peking. Based on the ‘Lu school’ cuisine of Shandong Province, the menu artfully captures the subtlety and surprises of Northern Chinese cooking. A cocktail selection inspired by ingredients used in Chinese cooking and stunning interior, complete with traditional Chinese red lanterns and beautiful hand-carved wood-panelled ‘Moon Gates’, offer London diners a new destination restaurant with panoramic views over London’s skyline.

Visited for a birthday lunch, we arrived early and sat at bar for a drink which was very expensive for what it was. They forgot about us and then seated us 15 minutes late but were quick to tell us to choose our mains because the kitchen was closing. The food itself was ok and pricey. The views of course were excellent and that's probably why you would visit this restaurant, definitely not for the food or service. Oh, and they just add 12.5% service charge to the bill knowing that very few people will object as it is embarrassing to go so.

We ordered a noodle dish which was described as with seasonal vegetables and the waitress said would be "noodles covered with seasonal veg" but had one stalk of Chinese broccoli and a few mushrooms
COd in ginger sauce was ok but at nearly £30 was a rip off. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the quality of the food ( the service was good) we were told they wouldn't charge us for service! The problem was not with service!!! Overall, great location but don't expect the food to be memorable

Visited today for lunch. Service was superb and the food delicious. We enjoyed cocktails from the menu and first and main courses, all the dishes were amazing. Would definitely go back and would recommend. A lovely experience with great views over London.

The food was excellent - I take my 2 boys (16 &13) once a year as a fantastic treat to celebrate the end of the academic year. We have dimsum - which is unfailingly tasty - everyone gets to choose and it is quite theatrical , the arrival of lovely little goodies and dips. It is not cheap - but it is good value - with service, it was £100 for dimsum and dessert. Great service (informative friendly and helpful, not pushy), great views and great food.

Took advantage of meal deal £ 35 set menu through "book a table" but this restricted us to a 12.15 sitting which had we booked directly we could have had the same set menu price at a time of pig choosing . The food & service were excellent & staff very friendly & accommodating - would definitely go again - delicious dumplings ! A very special venue for a special occasion - they have private dining rooms/ areas of you have the budget
