“Great Steak and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2013

Taking dinner at The Rose, right in front of Greenwood Theatre of King's College Guys Campus. I ordered a Steak. A really huge steak for me. Lol. It was nice and good atmosphere. Very friendly bartender and waiters. I do really want to go back to there. :)

“Wonderful pub...off the beaten track”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 November 2013

I'd been told about The Rose a couple of months back and had been promising myself a visit. Finally got round to it and I had wished I had done it sooner. Gorgeous rustic interior, almost feeling like you've stepped into a dickensian London tavern. Wine selection was great as was the wine recommendation from the team.

We went on a Friday night and whilst it wasn't like rush hour on the tube inside my friend and I did have to wait a bit to score ourselves a table, however this didn't matter as it was wonderful to prop ourselves up by the bar and sink back into the friendly atmosphere of the place.

Feeling a bit peckish we decided to have a few snacks....oh my days...the sausage rolls, out of this world!

Overall a lovely venue. Friendly team, great atmosphere and delicious food just what you are looking for in a pub, especially in London. Will definitely be coming back.

“Great British Pub, total hidden Gem!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2013 via mobile

after being closed down for what seems like a good few years it has recently been re-opened and couldn't be anymore different

It looks amazing, from the floor made of pennies (a must see) to the unnerving queen Vic bust placed on the bar.

Have been in a few times now and It can lack a little ambiance during the day but this is just because it isn't packed out, (which to be honest won't take long) but the fantastic food and service more than make up for it.

If your a local to Bermondsey street this place is a really good alternative.
