Called in for a lunch snack and a drink. The menu was very ordinary and the service was acceptable, but there was nothing very outstanding about the place or the food. I would try other local pubs.

Thank Alan M

Strewth, couldn't hear a word being said, full of post work people having an after work pint or two or three. That said it is a nice bar, and to be fair there is a quieter area downstairs. Cant remember which lager it was but it was very nice, good range.

I kind of half agreed with the other review. Previously, the atmosphere was lively and buzzing and it was just a normal busy pub. However, I had lunch with a few work colleagues and we loved the food, décor and the staffs. Yes, only a few people were there but at least we can have a nice chat and enjoy our food in peace. If you want a nice quiet lunch and nice food around the area, give it a go. If you want to drink and enjoy a lively atmosphere, then it may not be for you.

This pub used to be an institution on Minories. It was bustling, crowded, loud, and popular. It had a jukebox and quiz machine, it showed live sports and offered simple but filling pub grub at cheap prices. The girls behind the bar were fun and flirty and the place was packed most nights, spilling out onto the streets during the summer months.

Fast forward a few months since the refurbishment - what a change, for the worse. It is as if the soul of the place has been ripped out and replaced with an aesthetically jarring, generic 'rustic pub' pastiche. The lively, fun atmosphere has disappeared, the jukebox is gone, the quiz machine is gone, the classic old school, cosy pub interior is nowhere to be seen.

Punters are voting with their feet - the place is generally dead at lunchtime and the evenings aren't much better. Increasingly desperate marketing gimmicks on the outside chalk board suggests the end is nigh and it hopefully won't be long before Youngs realised they have made a huge mistake and do something about it. Such a shame.
