Took the grand-kids into town as I wanted to see what was happening in the Kings Cross - St Pancras rebuild (which looks fantastic) and found a large open space in front of the St Martins fashion uni which has been peppered with knee high mini fountains that the kids found endlessly fascinating. There is also a tiered area by the canal complete with faux grass to chill out in and a viewing platform for those of us who like to spot elf & safety bloopers
Also found quite a few "pop up" caterers selling a large range of goodies but NO ice creams so it was back to St Pancras station to Ily and £3.20 a tub for a very nice chocolate ice cream
Apparently the GLA insists that all new new major builds include free of charge benefits for the masses during the build
London seems much more open and friendly lately
