A group of us went on the Deptford walk a couple of years back and we still talk about how much fun it was! Sean is an excellent guide - friendly and informative and he uses Charles Booth's poverty maps in a innovative way.

We covered such a vast array of topics and sites and I will definitely be booking a future walk with him again. Thanks Sean!

I have done two of the Booth walks and look forward to trying the Whitechapel walk. The walks are informal and entertaining dotted with relevant pieces of prose/poetry. Sean has clearly extensively researched his area and one comes away feeling well informed as well as exercised. Booth must have been a fascinating character who undertook this immense public health study well before such observations were on the sociological agenda, often it sounds like, placing himself in considerable danger. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in a more informal and more educative aspect of seeing corners of London which is a welcome departure from your average site seeing expedition

We've been on two Charles Booth walks now, and have been very impressed with both. Sean is a very knowledgeable guide, and the event feels very much like a stroll with an erudite friend, rather than the experience we've had with some of the larger walking companies in London, which are much more impersonal. We've done the Deptford and the Clerkenwell walks, and will no doubt get around to doing the Whitechapel one too. If you're visiting or you live in London like we do, and you like local history, then we couldn't recommend these walks highly enough.

This inter-active tour was excellent. Sean's detailed knowledge and enthusiasm took us into the world of Booth and the history of the area as well as relevance to present day. It was fun and friendly, too. Highly recommended.

Last Saturday we went on the Charles Booth Walk around Clerkenwell. Sean has researched the historical detail meticulously. I teach history at a London University and I was impressed by the level of detail and the care he has taken to present an accurate and yet entertaining picture of this fascinating area. Most importantly it was fun - a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon with friends.
