I stayed in room 504 which is a deluxe single room. The room was really nice, looked recently renovated, with simple decoration and enough space for one person and his staff.
The bathroom was nice, only the shower space was little small. It was ok for me ,but maybe for a man it would be very small.
The WiFi worked very well and the refrigerator was a nice surprise for a single room.
The area around the hotel is quiet, but you will find restaurants, small markets and exchange money shops.
The underground station Queensway is very close, 2 min walk.Paddington station is 10 min walk.
Definitely recommended ,I would stay again

We arrived in London in the middle of a 48 hr Tube Strike and was grateful for the easy location to Marble Arch and a 20 minute or so walk found ourselves at the hotel, Not overly happy with the disinterested guy on reception who was not able to give us any directions or ideas how to get about in this difficult time. Poor start.

The room was clean and while a little on the small side was well worth the money we paid for its location in central London. It was VERY hot so had to open the window to bring the room down to a reasonable temperature.

A short walk put us in a haven of culinary delights with all varieties of food, This bore testimony to the hotel's excellent location, The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Shower was too hot but controllable.

Breakfast was Continental and there was a good selection of cereals, yogurts, jams and was supplemented with a range of juices, toast, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, olives and bread rolls as well as croissants. I was impressed with breakfast and found it generous

Excellent value for money and would stay again,

After a long train journey and all the walking, the uncomfortable bed was the first major letdown! The room was small, but what does one expect of London. The toilet was small as expected, but the hot water was unpredictable, suddenly going cold in the midst of a shower!
Went down to check out breakfast the next day, but there was no staff to assist. There were tea/coffee-machine, but we had to pay for drinks! So we had breakfasts in a nearby diner.
Location was great though: several minutes walk to many London attractions. The Queensway and Bayswater tube stations are just 10 mins walk. Very close to many halal foods, Chinese and mid- east outlets too. Across the road is the Malaysia Hall and nearby are the Grand Plaza and Berjaya Eden for those who wish to sample Malaysian food!
Troy IS great for its location. Period.

After previous experience of tiny London quadruple rooms, we booked a twin and double. Both rooms were good sizes and clean. Beds ok, showers not huge but decent water pressure, service from hotel staff was excellent.
Location is good. Overall no problems and would go again.

Location was pretty good because of the lovely parks right next to it and the close tube station but not great. The hotel was outdated, we could not control the temperature in the room and it was very hot a lot of the time, and the wifi did not work in the room for the first half of our stay so we had to go down to the lobby to use it. One staff member (at night) was not friendly or helpful but most of them were. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend or stay here again myself.

Stayed for three nights but after two nights with little sleep we asked to be moved. The first room smelled of smoke and there were a lot of cigarette ends in the gutter outside the window. Nets, carpet and lampshade were grubby, though bedding and bathroom were clean. However the bed was uncomfortable and very creaky and the bath lacked a plug. The second room was much better. It smelled fresh and was a larger, cleaner room.
The Troy is ideally located opposite Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens and the tube and numerous restaurants are five minutes walk away. Staff were polite and the continental breakfast fresh and plentiful. We would stay again but only if we found a good deal and we would ask to see our room before accepting it.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room first as they do vary considerably for the same price.

Hotel room was quiet as the hotel is in a side street just off Bayswater Road. Close to tube station Queensway where you will find many restaurants offering food from around the world. Hotel was excellent value for London. Room was small as a single but clean and had fridge, TV, kettle, digital safe and shower in bathroom. I would have given 5* if the breakfast was better quality. Breakfast was adequate for me as I normally only have cereal. Choice of 3 cereals, yoghurts, cheese, olives, hard boiled eggs, croissants, rolls, toast, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Milk for cereal tasted like UHT and no decaf coffee. Breakfast room was clean and self service so you could eat as much as you wanted.
