It was a bit of a trek to search for this along Hyde Park, but I'm glad to have visited this fitting tribute to the late Princess Diana.

The kids seemed to have enjoyed playing in the water and a great place to sit and reflect.

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, it was delightful to stop by Diana's Memorial.
It is somewhat deep into Hyde Park, especially if coming from the Marble Arch tube stop (or Speakers' Corner). Allow time to locate & get inside. Keep looking, it is worth it.
Enclosed. Lots of green grass & large shade trees. Perfect to plop down for a picnic. Kids will have a grand time playing in the water. Although I find it hard to believe this was the intent when constructed. The kids rule. And they play to their hearts' content while parents picnic.
By the way, if a quick shower comes through during your visit, pop under one of the massive trees. Will stay nice & dry. And kids won't even know it's raining. Diana, I'm sure, is blissfully happy watching over them.

While on our recent trip to London we made a visit to Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain. It was a welcomed place to visit during our walk around the park and we got to put our feet in the lovely cold water and just relax while the sun shone. I liked our the area was taken care of for the daily visitors to enjoy and it gave us time to collect our thoughts and plans for the day ahead. Worthwhile a visit by anyone who wants to escape the hussle and bussle of central London, a beautiful oasis from the madness.

We visited on a hot Friday afternoon - it was packed with children having a great time in the water, which is full of variations for them to enjoy. We're sure that Diana would have loved how laid back and fun it was, and how much it was being enjoyed by children of all ages (and some adults!). Nothing fancy or show-offy - but isn't that what she would have wanted?
