“Great location”
Reviewed 31 March 2014

I travelled with my husband for 4 nites to London. Choose the hotel because of the location and the official pictures on it's website. The first nite was terrible as we received room in the basement. The room was dark, small and noisy because of the tube in every 2 min's from 5.30 am till midnite.
Luckily and finally with the help of Alpesh we received another room on 2nd floor for the rest of our stay, which is much appreciated as he saved our stay in the city. The new room was small, but clean and not noisy (just the usual noises from the street).
The breakfast is simple toast with jam, cereals and orange juice. We had some problems with the water as well, when we showered late morning, there were no hot water, or no water at all for few minutes.
Overall the hotel is ok with very good location and fair prices for the rooms on upper floors, with Alpesh who is very commited to the guests.

Room Tip: In the accomodation mention that need room on upper floors. If u don't like street noises ask fo...

The service was very bad.
we took an orginized trip, the staff member who helped us charged more then the original price of the trip, only later when we checked on the site and with the people on the same trip we found out about it - in other words he took advantage of our poor knowlenge at that time.

terrible noise cancelation, you hear the metro, the reception and dinning room noises.

breakfast is very poor - couldn't even be called a breakfast at all.

no soap in the bathroom - we needed to ask.
the towels wasn't replaced.
very small bathroom and water stream was poor.

we won't come there ever again!!!

Three of us stayed in one room for one night. The hotel was a very short 5 minute walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station and when we got there, the hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating. The room itself was much bigger than we could have imagined and overlooked the pretty park/gardens opposite, which we were very happy about. The room was simple but very big, consisting of a large double bed, two single beds, a wardrobe, tv, fridge, hair dryer and kettle with the usual hot drinks sachets. The en suite bathroom was a good size and everything was in good working condition. The beds were very comfortable and the temperature was well maintained despite the window not closing properly (the only issue we noted). All in all a very comfortable stay, not too fancy but ideal for our needs and higher than our expectations.

We used this hotel as a base to visit the pubs of London and a trip watch International rugby at Twickenham. The reviews on here didn't leave much to be desired but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a group of five fellas and the trip organiser booked a tripl room and a double !!! We were expecting the triple to have a double bed and a single but th room was that big there was enough room for a double and two singles. The double though was a double, the manager said that there was no problem as beds could be split or the we have another room you can look at. The other room although smaller was ideal as it was a twin. Everything was clean and the beds were comfy.
NOT AS BAD AS THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS SAID.

My husband and I have just returned from a lovely stay in the Blue Bells Hotel. The welcome we received from Alpesh was very warm and friendly. The room we were given overlooked the attractive square at the front. We were given a triple room which was very spacious and very clean. It had a table by the window and a fridge. The bathroom was large by London standards and very clean. The only drawback was there was no glass in the bathroom, but that's a minor point. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. It was very warm in the room, which was nice. The point that fellow travellers make about the tube noise, let me say it is minimal, we hardly noticed it at all so it wouldn't put us off staying again. When we checked out on Sunday Alpesh was there with a friendly smile and cheerful wave. We told him we would definitely stay here again (particularly if we could have the same room!).
The breakfast, minimal, but the toast was cooked fresh and I think you could ask for more. The coffee is freshly brewed too, albeit not too strong, but that is a personal taste.
A great stay, top marks all round.

My 4 friends and I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights. After reading all the awful reviews we were so scared of what we will find once we got there and we even considered cancelling our booking. To our surprise, the room was actually really nice.
We stayed in the room B3 in the floor below the reception. There were 3 single beds and 1 double. Although it was on the basement, the room was spatious and bright, it had 3 big and beautiful windows. The beds were comfortable and clean. The furniture and carpet were outdated but oh well, they served their purpose. You had a frigde in the room, too. The bathroom was our biggest suprise, you could tell it had been refurbished not long ago. It was spacious and clean as well. There was a big towel for each person in the room
There was a heater to heat the whole room, and let me say it was enough. After an hour the room was completely nice and warm. Yes, you can feel the subway sometimes but unlike some of the reviews here, it's not that annoying and no, it doesnt feel like an earthquake, just a slight vibration that doesn't prevent you from doing anything, not even sleep. We had no problem whatsoever to sleep at night.
Every morning after we left to go sightseeing, the stuff would go in the room and make our beds, put more tea and coffee and clean around, not thoroughly though.
Wifi signal was a bit weak in the room, but still usable. The signal was perfect in the dining room.
The dining room, or living room was really nice, it had comfortable armchairs, chairs and some benches. There was a computer that you could use anytime, also a microwave. The breakfast was not assorted but quantity was good. There were two types of cereal, toasts with jam and butter, milk, coffee and juice. You could eat and drink as much as you wanted. And if you want to eat something else, you can always bring in your own food to the room.
The staff was quite nice, especially the reception staff. They would answer our questions with their biggest smiles.
The location of the hotel can't be any better. Notting Hill it's a beautiful and calm neighborhood. It's a five-ten minute walk to the subway station, bus stops, restaurants, gift shops and the local grocery store.
To sum up, we would aboslutely recommend this hotel if you're on a budget and you don't want to spend ages getting to places on public transportation.
