This is the first time we have stayed at The London Edition and it is excellent! The food, service, rooms, concierge and general feel of the hotel. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff and they are all willing to help in any way they can. Brilliant location... Just do it!!

So, this is not your Daddy's Marriott by any means The Edition is the new cool brand from the chain and it works almost exactly as planned, which is good to know and better to experience We stayed for a week and found the experience to be top notch The hotel is in a great location near Oxford Street and walking distance to a lot of fun places including the West End, Regent Street, Carnaby Street etc etc

The renovation and upgrade obviously took a long time and great attention to detail was paid to keep the architecture of the majestic lobby and Berners Tavern intact while adding everything updated in the hotel and rooms that you could wish for The guests are for sure pretty upmarket and international. The bar and restaurants in the evening signal that it is one of London's hot new addresses to see and be seen.

Berners Taven is the house restaurant and a Jason Atherton venture It was the best dinner we had in London by far and very reasonably priced compared to other high end places like Chiltern Firehouse which was far less memorable

The staff are generally very helpful and try to ensure a great experience A couple of nags were taken care of very well and fast by front office manager Sara Kaplan who does a great job there

To be balanced, we found that the concierge service is really an information desk in fact manned by not very proactive people with a laptop and a phone (both of which all of us have) We thought that a lifestyle hotel of this nature would have a really turned on concierge crew that were real London insiders, knew what was going on and could get things done..not the case Maybe though, it is supposed to be just that - an information desk

All in all though a great stay and this is our new London "home from home"

Room Tip: Room not facing Berners Street

I just stayed at this property. I have used my points to pay for my stay. My flight arrived in the morning and when I got to the hotel, they offered me a room for disabled people, because mine was not ready yet. The room was OK and didn't notice any difference. The hotel is clean, the staff very warm and helpful. The location is great too. It is close to a tube station and in walking distance to Soho, Mayfair, Leicester Square. Didn't use the bar, but the restaurant was quite good. Just had breakfast there, though. It was my first time in London and I couldn't ask for a better first impression. Keep up the good job!

Initially it looked very nice and chic. Had checked in and was taken to a narrow room. The air conditioner blew right onto the writing area (a counter not a table). The space between the bed and writing table was limited. The bathroom looked nice but (1) shower door opened out and there was no space for bath mat (floor got wet); (2) there is no electric outlet for hair dryer, not even for shavers); (3) no hooks or rack for wet towels. The room had very limited storage spaces. Some rooms where friends stayed had no drawers. One positive is friendly service. For the room rate charged, even for London, the room should be better designed. Lacked practicality.

Dear Albert C

Although it’s great to hear you enjoyed the service in the hotel, we are truly sorry the room you stayed in did not meet expectations. We have bathmats in every room whether they have a bath and shower or shower only, to ensure floors don’t get wet. Equally every room was designed to have both a towel rack and hooks to hang wet towels. We will ensure to resolve that there was not enough space between door and wall for a mat to avoid a wet floor, and why there may not have been hooks or a rack, as this is part of the standard inventory in each room. Our oversized showers and generally large bathrooms were designed with one thing in mind only, for guests to have a fantastic shower and morning experience. We obviously failed on this occasion.

UK laws prevent us from having sockets for proper hairdryers in bathrooms, and we therefore have these located by the oversized mirrors in all bedrooms. Our listed and historic building has given us dozens of unique room configurations with variable wardrobe layouts. We sincerely apologise for any discomfort the perceived lack of storage space and the bathroom experience may have caused, and hope to have a chance to recover in the future.

Please contact us directly should you wish to return so we can ensure your room preferences are noted.

Kind regards,

Seven of us recently stayed at The London Edition the week of June 23rd, from Grandmother's to our 10 year old son and our experience was simply outstanding! I've traveled Europe, Asia, and nearly all 50 U.S. States and I have come across few if any better hotel staffs than that of the London Edition!

Front Desk Staff: Dennis, Robin and the front desk staff were warm, courteous, professional & helpful.

Lounge: The staff in the lounge, Camille, Teegan (hope I spelled that right) & Agnes were gracious, warm, genuine, friendly, engaging and always willing to help! Camille went so far to send our son, who subsequently turned 11 the next week in Paris, a birthday card to our hotel in Paris! She's the best! Camille also provided us with a hand written note of recommended spots off the beaten path in London to see.

The restaurant: Is cool, has outstanding ambience, very good food, a great wine list and is a fun environment in which to dine. See if you can count all the paintings on the walls!!

The staff that cleans the rooms were also welcoming and helpful! Marta in particular was warm & terrific with our two children!

The gents at the door, particularly Harry & Sam always welcoming, helpful, engaging and gracious.

I haven't even addressed the rooms. Each was roomy, clean, comfortable & up to date modern! The bathrooms were awesome! The showers among the best I've experienced in European hotels. The location of the hotel, just West of Oxford Street, is easily in walking distance to Piccadilly Circus & Soho. There are two tube stops in walking distance in either direction from Oxford Street & their is a Starbucks within a 3 - 5 minute walk.

I could not provide The London Edition with higher marks and a stronger recommendation.

If you want to enhance your London experience, whether it be for business or pleasure, I can't imagine there is a better hotel than the London Edition. Quite frankly the hotel itself is almost secondary, in the best possible way, to the staff who works at The London Edition. Simply put, each one of them is the best and as a team they are unmatched!

Cozy lobby, friendly staff. Unfortunately, no time for breakfast but the restaurant looks very nice. Excellent bathroom, a Marriott standard. Large Flat TV and Bose iPhone docks & free high speed internet is great for your favorite music channels. The only problem was unknown power cut from 9:00 pm to 03:00 am :(
