Over the years, we've stayed at a variety of Marriott properties in London -- all were good but the London Edition is our new favorite.
The hotel is somewhat reminiscent of the "W" chain, but without the attitude. Check-in was fast. We booked a standard room (on Marriott points). It was more than adequate. Very trendy decor. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was only a single chair in the room for relaxing but we didn't spend much time in the room. The bath was modern and well-appointed.
Our room overlooked a side street. Not sure there would be a terrific view from any room, given the hotel's location in the middle of a street. You basically trade a central location for expansive views -- accept that and, if you want to see the sites, get out and walk!
The hotel is centrally located. We were easily able to walk to shopping and tourist sites. For the more adventurous, the hotel is near Tube stations. While the concierge service is a bit disappointing for a hotel of this reputation, the main desk is very helpful in terms of directions and recommendations.
TripAdvisor reviews said the restaurant was terrific and we agree. Food was excellent!! Service was equally good. I think it helps to get a reservation if you're a hotel guest. We had a wonderful meal and would highly recommend it.
As others have said, there is no concierge lounge...Over the years, we've stayed at a variety of Marriott properties in London -- all were good but the London Edition is our new favorite.

As others have said, there is no concierge lounge and really no indication this is a Marriott property. We didn't miss it and, as Marriott platinum members, were well treated. Breakfast was included in our booking -- it was exceptional! Many, many terrific choices -- we were stuffed!
